hey y’all
it’s time. i still love snl but i don’t post anymore and it’s not fair to y’all so i’m retiring this blog. it’s staying up, so don’t worry about the content, but i just don’t have inspiration and i feel so bad for taking requests and not doing anything about them. i still watch the show and enjoy it and all but !!! i just don’t have the time to dedicate to writing as much as i used to

He would absolutely light up if he noticed you in the crowd during Update, especially if you didn’t tell him you were coming, which you were known to do on occasion.
You liked to surprise him, so sometimes you’d come to one of the tapings by getting a free ticket from Che or one of Colin’s writer friends.
Che would have this dumb smile once he realized Colin saw you and he’d turn to Colin like, “What’re you making that face for, man?”
And Colin’s smiling but trying to keep the show going so he just smiles at the camera with a little, “My S/O is here, and I didn’t realize they were coming. Hi, Y/N,” he laughs, waving at you.
However, if he knows you’re coming, he’s extra nervous because you’ll be right. there. in front of him.
He messes with his hair backstage so much because he wants to impress if he knows you’re there (and it drives the hair + makeup team crazy).
If you visit him during the week on set, he always makes sure the two of you can spend his lunch break together, even if it’s not very long or you can’t leave the studio.
He gives you personal tours of the studio like a nerd when you visit.
“This is where Che and I write for Update. And that’s the best water cooler on the floor. I can’t explain why, it just is.”
Che always brings you up on Update while on air so Colin gets nervous.
It’s always very sweet but you worry that it’s gonna get him fired or something (even though it wouldn’t happen!)
On the rare occasion that he actually gets to be in a sketch besides WU, you help him memorize his lines at home.
He runs Update jokes by you the night before he takes it to the rest of the Update writing team to get your input first.
You’ve written/added to a few jokes that have made it to air because of that.
Besides all that, you two love to take trips to the beach on hiatus and off-weeks.
Bike rides around the city!!!
Dinner dates are a MUST, especially on Sunday nights before work starts up again on Monday morning.
When he’s doing stand-up on off time, he loves telling stories about you.
You go to any local shows he has if it’s a big tour because you want to support him (and see what he’s saying about you ;P)
You two probably have a dog.
All in all, he’s very domestic. He loves cooking for you, he always gives you compliments and he texts you about everything and anything when he should be working.
You two have a sweet relationship and everyone knows you both are so happy and in love.

a/n: of course anon!! this is so cute!!! idk much about the logistics of making politics a career but i am gonna try to write it for you!
John Mulaney
You have the world’s worst job, truly.
You’re campaigning for a super important political job in New York, and your team is just.... not ideal.
They’re successful, and they’re trying, but there’s just a lack of communication and budgeting is always off and - in summary, you’re never not stressed.
But lucky for you, your boyfriend is none other than John Mulaney.
He knows how awful your job is because you text him about it when you’re at work and he’s at home doing whatever it is he does when you’re at work.
Usually he’s watching a documentary on TV while your pet lays on his lap. It’s very cute.
“Hi honey, how was work?” he asks.
You groan every. single. time.
“Well, you’re fighting the good fight. It’s not gonna be easy, but if anyone can do it, it’s you.”
His kind words make you feel better. He always knows just what to say.
He’ll make space on the couch for you, and your pet will crawl over to see you instead of him.
He’ll take the opportunity to get you an ice cold water (or some wine) and turn the tv down so you can vent about your day.
He’ll make dinner, which he’s gotten pretty good at, so you don’t have to think about it. Or you’ll order out, depending on what you want.
During dinner, he’ll tell you funny stories that happened throughout the day, or if he’s workshopping new material, you’ll hear it first.
“And then the mailman dropped ALL the letters in the puddle, and he kept driving! What kind of mailmen does this city employ?” he enthuses. “I’m gonna have a word with Mayor de Blasio as soon as possible! Do you have his personal number?”
You could be having the worst day and John finds a way to cheer you up and make you laugh.
I bet he gives good shoulder massages.
Cuddling on the couch together and putting on some kind of mindless show or movie is so ideal.
Sometimes, he’ll buy you little things that make him think of you when he’s out.
It might be candy, or some neat book he thought you’d like (whenever you have the time to read it), or your favorite cookies from that bakery you like... but he likes to surprise you sometimes, especially when things are especially stressful.
He’s always there to support you, no matter what - especially if that means he can make you laugh.
