“Don’t jump on people in such a way!” he keeps scolding. “Don’t you think of others! You’re lucky I didn’t have a knife!” His gardening tools are nearby but out of reach and he had come to his senses before he had done anything too drastic…. Moving around, he held out his hand to help her up.
It was like there was a loud siren going off in her ears. The shock of everything was still sitting in. Reaching back towards his hand, she would allow him to help her up. Her face still turning red. She hadn’t seen anything like this since WW2. A horrible time, but, this wasn’t anything like back then. He didn’t continue his attack.
“…. Ah.. Knife? It would not be first time I feel cold metal inside of my body. I know you wouldn’t mean it! Sorry for the spooking! What can I do to make you better?..”
“Don’t do it again,” he stressed as he pulled her up. “Now. What can I help you with?”
“I do not remember.. but, can I hang out with you?!” She was a playful person. No doubt she’d do something like this again.
