Dust Goes Flying â Weiss and Livio â
Whew, man, this woman was intimidating. Admittedly, Livio wasnât used to seeing such a dainty looking lady so full of confidence that it kind of threw him for a loop. The only women he had ever really encountered were fellow assassins or the two that hung around Vash constantly. There was also Jasmine but⊠Well, he didnât want to think about her, only to spare himself from feeling too terrible about his memories of her.
He watches as the snow-haired woman makes her way over to the serene tree, trying to get a better look at her weapon as she began to prepare to put it away. Yeah, that was definitely a revolver on it⊠But oddly enough, the sword itself didnât fire bullets, just enhanced her abilities and some other mumbo-jumbo he couldnât fully understand at this point. True, he had seen weirder weapons and more complex abilities, but he had never seen anything quite like that before; it was rather puzzling to the brawny man.
"Heh, thatâs a rather bold thing tâask," he chuckles a bit, tilting his hat upwards. He pauses for a moment to remove his hat and cape and put them on the nearby bench, revealing his rather muscular frame better, as well as the tattoo over his right eye, as well as his artificial ear on the same side. He believed that these items enhanced his performance, but he should really practice without them sometimes. Lazlo would emerge just to scold him for that fact, so he wanted to avoid that. "Mâusual weapon of choice are a pair of submachine guns, mâam," he starts, looking back at her with his gold optics. "Unlucky for me, that bear took âem away, so now all I have are mâfists⊠Which I donât mind, oâcourse. I can fight well enough without mâweapons," he looks a bit smug as he says that, approaching one of the test dummies. Maybe he could show-off a bit and let this girl see what he was capable of⊠Though, he wasnât entirely sure why he wanted to. He was usually so shy.
"I assume ya use that sword tâfight most of the time?"
Having fully loaded the steel briefcase, she slams it shut with quite a bit of force, but muffled force, as too much could potentially set off the bottles... It was highly unlikely in hindsight, but better safe than sorry. She'd prefer not to explode a hole in the fifth floor, that might be disastrous. Myrtenaster is attached at her hip once again, allowing it to hang of its own free will at ready access should she need it. Prepped and prepared to go all over again, the heiress would fully regain her breath and steady heartbeat as she observed his fighting style.
The girl's eyes roll at his comment. "Bold or not, I don't care. If I want to know, I'll ask. It's common sense."
Though, the sight she was met with as he removed unneeded clothing snagged her increased interest. He had much more in the muscle department than she originally assumed, despite his size in the first place. What especially caught her concern was the right half of his face; an intriguing tattoo scaling his eye as well as what seemed to be a factitious ear. Many different possibilities came flooding through as she wondered what sort of affiliation or incident would require him to possess such strange physical traits.
Soon enough, her attention returned to his words. While normal people didn't usually associate with weaponry of such a caliber, as a Huntress very few weapons surprised her in the least. Weiss didn't appear the slightest bit surprised. "You can fight just as well without your weapons? I guess I can believe it when I see it." Weiss leaned her cheek into her palm, intentionally looking as bored as possible.
She let out a heavy sigh, as though it should be obvious was her answer would be. "Yes, my rapier is my main weapon," she informed, placing irritated emphasis on 'rapier' as correction, "but normally I can fight off monsters without Dust. It's just a crutch."

Now I've Seen It All â Weiss & Nanaki â
"Unfortunately, as much as I wish I could think like you, reality is as such. If you want to get out, all you have to do is murder somebody without being caught. Itâs not a dream, princess. Itâs time to wake up." Nanaki needed to try to help this girl accept facts. Itâd be best to try to help her mind ease onto another topic though. There had to be a way to.
"Well, may I ask about you MissâŠ" Thatâs be a good way to break the tension. If he learned about her a bit, he might be able to help her come to facts.Â
Her body was rigid, frozen in anxiety. Was this truly the end to her freedom? Would she never see the light of day again?
...No. Of course she would. It was impossible that life could end here, in such a dismal place.
Her thoughts in an internal limbo, her head lifted, gazing emptily at Nanaki as he inquired about her personage. Not that it was really all too important to her at current, she could understand that it was a diversion and was partially willing to offer information on herself. Weiss tried to loosen up, in order to speak in a clear tone of voice.
"...Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, the world's largest producer and exporter of Dust. Huntress-in-training. Anything else?" Of course, the heiress had no idea that the attendees of this accursed academy were from different worlds, and that no one here would truly understand what any of the terms of hers meant.
Material Matters â Weiss & Morty â
Mortyâs intentions were to not linger for too long. A bit parched, he wished to simply go into the cafeteria, to the kitchen, pour himself a glass of fresh water, and leave. The odd time would permit the room to be empty. Walking in through the double doors, the cafeteriaâs sheer size was only amplified by the emptiness. A school with as many students as this one has, of course the cafeteria has to accommodate for the population. He wonders; with students coming in every day, does the cafeteria require expansions every now and again?
Like the size, sounds were amplified thanks to the roomâs acoustics. When the glass bottle fell, it echoed clearly, reaching the clairvoyantâs ears and flagging him to stop in his tracks.Â
Roll.
Roll.
Clink.
Gaze descended and focused on the newcomer at his feet: a glass bottle with a content he is not familiar with. Before he reached down to pick it up, a voice rang out in the emptiness.
Volatile? This little thing?
His knees bent, hand cautious as the clairvoyant reaches for and picks up the bottle. He puts consideration into the âvolatileâ part of her warning. This object may be a lot more dangerous than it looks.
"I have it," he responds. "Still in tact." He isnât sure if itâs safe to just run over and give the bottle back. What if sudden friction causes it to explode? He doesnât know how this compound works at all. The next steps, he would leave up to the stranger.
Just the fact that there wasn't a crater in the middle of the cafeteria on an injury on the other person was enough to cause her to exhale in relief. Honestly, that was utterly embarrassing, and she should learn to handle such dangerously fickle substances with better care. For security's sake, Weiss rose from where she sat, striding over to him and halting just close enough to pluck the bottle from his hand with plenty of grace, trying to make up for her past klutzy move. As she maneuvers through chairs back to the open case, she goes on about Dust as she seemed to always do when things like this happened. It wasn't like she really wanted to- it was more out of habit and expertise than anything.
"Of course, you knew that already, right? I mean, only a complete dolt wouldn't know that Dust is unstable." Oh, if he said no, she'd have to see if she had any of those pamphlets at the ready... "Because lucky for you, you're not skewered or frozen in a block of ice right now." Naturally, she forced the blame away from her lost grip and on to his convenient location. You're in for a fun time, because Weiss is just the most cheerful and bubbly student at Hope's Peak.
See, she doesn't understand that not everyone's from her chunk of the world, and mostly anyone here would have absolutely no idea what she's going on about. Have fun with that.
Now I've Seen It All â Weiss & Nanaki â
âŠ.
"Itâs quite obvious I can speak. After all, you can hear me." Unfamiliar face number⊠whatever freaking out at Nanakiâs ability to speak. What was it that made people freak out at it? He might have been an animal but it doesnât mean only humans are limited to their ability to speak. As normal though, another person is shocked at this.
"Also, denying the fact this entire game is fake will get you killed eventually. You made a mistake coming here. Have you even reviewed the rules? Itâs best to come to terms and cry or whatever you do when youâre grieving your lost of freedom." Nanaki spoke as if he already went through it. Honestly, Nanaki didnât want to believe it as much Weiss didnât. He wished it was all fake. It wasnât though and he couldnât deny it.Â
"This is insane, what kind of school is this?!" Well, it was the kind of school that would lock you up forever unless you successfully got away with murder, for a start. It was hardly a school to begin with. However, surely talking animals and beasts partaking in such an event as students weren't expected, and it really just tipped the scale of sanity. That likely jarred her even more than the fact that he was speaking in the first place.
However, her face twisted up into some unreadable expression at his words of wisdom. It was... real? This whole game was actually real?
"I can't... accept that! I won't!" Her denial kicked into overdrive, and she refused to swallow such a statement. "Someone will come for me! I'm too important to be locked up in a place like this! I can't be kept here forever!" Her teeth grit together, and her fury couldn't maintain itself for long; it soon caved in and collapsed, leaving Weiss shaded with regret as she stood solid in melancholy.
"I'm no caged bird. I can't... be kept here."
Dust Goes Flying â Weiss and Livio â
The dojo wasnât Livioâs first place in mind to train, but he thought it would be a good start. Naturally he had already discovered the weight room and worked out pretty hard in there, he needed to go and practice his fighting skills some more. While he had the utmost confidence in his abilities, they wouldnât be retained if he didnât practice them as often as he could not then, would it?
Approaching the dojo, he couldnât help but hear the noise coming from the inside. It sounded like⊠Metal slashing against material and hay. Someone must be practicing their swordsmanship, he thought, taking a peek inside.
And how right he was; there was a woman, garbed in all white, slashing away at the dummies provided in the dojo. He watched her practice with interest as her sword began to produce different effects when she seemingly changed the chamber on it. Interesting; Livio was used to seeing such a variety of weapons that this sort of thing didnât surprise him in the slightest.
⊠Oh, whoops, he got noticed! Better yet, this woman seemed to be a bit arrogant, too. Why was it that he kept running into the haughty women? It didnât seem that Livio minded much, though. "Oh, sorry, mâam," he tilts his hat to her as he apologizes. "I just came here tâpractice myself, is all and I didnât want to interrupt you with my own practice," he explains, keeping a distance from her. Livio didnât want to approach her now and seem creepy; he was constantly worried about his appearance to others because he was pretty used to people being really scared and intimidated by him and to be honest, he didnât want to scare anyone.
That is, of course, until they proved themselves to be a threat to Livio and his comrades.
After proper scrutiny of his gruff appearance through narrowed icy irises, her gaze swaps between the male suddenly appearing and Myrtenaster gripped tightly in her palm. Perhaps it was best that she take a break, anyways; after all, she was utilizing a surprising amount of Dust with this session, and she shouldn't be doing so. For starters, she had quite the limited supply, since she was imprisoned and there was no way for her to gain any even with her family ties. More importantly, she wasn't gaining any skill from making use of her father's product- in fact, it was likely harming her more than assisting, if her goal of independence was to be within reach. Therefore, her rapier hung at her side as she dismissively waved her hand in his direction, but her words reflected the opposite of its intent.
"Fine, do what you want. I'm resting, anyway." Weiss falls back, retreating into the background of blossoming sakura trees. The heiress leaned against the trunk of one of them, her case of Dust lying open by the base of her boot. Slowly, she begins removing the now nearing empty glass bottles from their chambers and placing them back in the gouges in the material. Well, while she rested, she could be curious, right? It might be beneficial in the end; having strong allies was just as crucial as being strong yourself.
"...So what sort of training are you doing, anyways? What's your weapon?" She immediately assumed that there was a weapon involved whether or not he actually planned to use one- just the nature of her universe. The snow-white girl got down onto her knees, sitting in a ladylike fashion as she propped herself against the tree again to keep steady.
Make Way â Weiss & Ruby â
Things had been off to a rather odd start to say the very least. She had approached a rather promising school that hopefully would bolster her reputation as a budding huntress and ease herself into somewhere she swore she had intended to be. Sadly all she could draw was a blank. Sheâd meander the hallways a bit confused by the layout or what this school was. In fact the only vivid memory she had on call was being in a forest of some sort after blacking out in front of the school. Then fighting through a wave of those wicked creatures along side that Sakura girl. While she was on her mind she had hoped she got proper care for her injuries since they were quite grievous to say the least.
The deeper Ruby would wander the more lost she got and with nary a directory about it seemed more of a foregone conclusion of just where she would be presently. The most she could gather from her surroundings was being surrounded by doors going every which way and being numbered. It seemed more plausible to her that they might be dormitories of some sort. Sheâd hazard to knock, but being the new girl and really not knowing anyone she would shy away from that option. She wasnât what you would call fond of stepping outside of her comfort zones.
The best she could do was hope someone would open a door because she was not about to disturb a stranger in their own room even if it would be the most logical thing to do. She would amble about, but with no such luck to be had. The only thing she was learning that the dormâs hall ways were super long and winding. Just how many students and faculty lived her anyways? âThis is just too unreal⊠with so many rooms there has to be at least a couple hundred people here.. And mutual killing? Pff. Sounds like the tagline to some cheesy B-horror flick.â sheâd give a roll of her eyes and begin to turn around to face forward once more.
However that would turn into a less than graceful choice as she had found herself tripping over a suitcase that fate somehow put in her way and caused her to stumble forward and fall along with the suitcases with a rather audible thud. âOwwâŠ.â sheâd rub her head and look at the feet of the person standing before her. She was quick to conclude that it was likely the cases of this person. As she took in the snow white beauty her voice was anything but pleasant. In fact it was quite pitched from the fact that she was quite perturbed.
"Mnn .. Sorry about thatâŠ" she would speak with a vocalized regret as she stared back into the icy blue hues of the girl chiding her.
Powder blue hues could only glare daggers at this klutz of a girl for a stretched-out moment, her fury so blatant that it could probably be detected from down the hall, although she remained speechless. Wasn't it amazing how she managed to meet someone she knew she'd likely be unable to tolerate upon her very first visit to her dorm room? It was quite irritating, but unavoidable.
"Sorry? If you were sorry, then you wouldn't have done it in the first place! Don't you know how to properly navigate? You know, one foot in front of the other, watch out for obstacles, and most importantly- don't be stupid!" Harsh words sliced her tongue as they slipped out with the least of graces, verbally assaulting the unsuspecting girl. How funny, she happened to be the other student who had been planning to attend Beacon, but that was far beyond the fencer's knowledge. With an angry swipe, she scooped up the metal briefcase from the wreckage, clicking it open and allowing it to balance on her arm as she assessed the damage. There appeared to be minimal to no injuries acquired, but she still carefully inspected each bottle of Dust before actually turning back to the hooded girl.
"You're lucky none of these were hurt. It'll be difficult to come across Dust while we're in here-"
Oh, right. She wasn't going to have endless access to the energy that fueled the abilities of her weapon. Well, it would have to be used sparingly, which honestly shouldn't be all too tough, considering she planned to channel her own power rather than that she was granted by her father. Weiss would find her own strength, all by her own skill.
Maybe, in this situation, she felt a little humbled by the stupid decision she'd made. With a heavy-hearted sigh, the heiress snapped the case shut and took hold of the handle, placing it at her side. Her opposite hand extended towards the younger potential Huntress.
"Don't do it again."
drabble: heat
Okay, so âhotâ definitely wasnât something she was all too friendly with. The heiress was quite the delicate thing when it came to certain little things. In fact, on days when it seemed blistering (probably just some other part of initiation she was convinced this game was) she preferred to lock herself up anywhere cool so she could to avoid fainting from her proneness to heatstroke. However, on rare occasions, sheâd dare venture from where she was cooped up and navigate her way to the swimming pool. It was a common and quite effective method of escaping the heat, wasnât it?
No, she definitely wasnât self-conscious about dressing in swimwear, not in the slightest. Her more confident side took control in situations such as this, and sheâd stride from the changing room with no qualms of others observing. She only wanted to cool off, and she had just as much right as any other. Slowly sheâd descend the freezing steel ladder, lowering her body into the water, still ice-cold somehow, even among the sweltering temperatures. It was quite the relief, and didnât even take much getting used to. It was quite the relaxation to just swing her arms back over the poolâs edge and float there.
You know, even for a hell-bent academy of psychopaths and desperation, there were a few perks⊠Very few. This was one of them; at least she could beat the heat.

Now I've Seen It All â Weiss & Nanaki â
Nanaki was taking his usual strides through the hallways. Days seemed to be endless here. No signs of whatever time it could be until the announcements. Carrying a piece of meat in his mouth as ate the rest, he noticed the white-haired female eying him, she looking scared of him. The creature was adjusted to this treatment from some areas of where he lived, well used to. Now? It was rather weird. The humans didnât seem too concerned about him, it made sense though as the rule here was to survive or kill.Â
He turned to face the female which is when she pulled out her rapier out on Nanaki. If he made a wrong move, she could kill him. So he spoke.
"It wouldnât be wise to attack me. If you did and manage to kill me, a class trial would be held. You wouldnât need blood on your hands." His tone was a bit concerned for he did not anything to happen. He sat still now, scratching at his head like a dog would. "Retract your weapon please, I have no intentions to attack you."
The heiress was shocked into silence, bewilderment overtaking every other sense. In fact, she felt even less at ease than she had beforehand. No... animals didn't talk. Monsters didn't talk, usually. So what was the proper explanation for this? Was there one?
"You can speak?!"
Her rapier lowered from between the creature's eyes, shaking beneath the force of her trembling hand. Even worse yet, the words that the other spoke claimed him to be a student, if the game actually were true. Which she still denied to the fullest extent. Her mind just couldn't wrap around this... Weiss had probably never been so outright baffled in her lifetime.
"...D-Don't tell me you actually believe in this 'game of killing'. It's nothing but a joke. Perhaps a school initiation for placement or something, but there's no way that anything like that could be true." Yes, a test of willpower, perseverance. That's all it could be... Though, it was true, she'd never truly inquired to any of the others who held up compulsory residence here as to whether or not this 'survive or die' scenario was real, and if murder was an encouraged sport. Her mind was currently full of nothing but scribbles.
Now I've Seen It All â Weiss & Nanaki â
In her time as a Huntress-in-training, Weiss had seen many kinds of monsters, met the end of many a blow from said monsters, and defeated |monsters all the same. This girl foolishly assumed she'd seen plenty and all of this world's bizarre things, but Hope's Peak Academy was likely the gathering of the strangest and most diverse jumble of species and universes ever known. In a place such as this, the heiress's abilities could be considered the norm, even.
With her signature stride through the halls towards her dorm, she could have been met with anyone or anything. Goddesses, trained assassins...
Of all things, nothing could have prepared her for this.
Her eyes dilating in shock, Weiss unsheathed her rapier, aiming it towards this... animal? Some kind of dog beast? She honestly wasn't too sure, but it was here, and it couldn't have been a student... could it?
"Stay back!"
Material Matters â Weiss & Morty â
It was about time she took a while to slow down, perhaps assess the situation at hand. Just about broken in a sweat, Myrtenaster remained hanging at her hip, as she couldn't dare trust her sole weapon out of her sight. The heiress had gone through quite a bit of Dust, though that was really no trouble; after all, being the daughter of the owners of the world's most esteemed producer of energy implied that she had a nearly endless supply on hand at all times. Which she did.
She relaxed in the currently desolate cafeteria, the steel briefcase lying wide open, revealing its contents of a myriad of glass bottles filled with multiple colored powders. Weiss had one rested in her palm, its color shimmering a pale blue, glass branded with the Schnee family seal. Normally, she was fairly able to keep a grip, and yet still the bottle managed to miraculously slip from her hand and clatter to the ground, thankfully not causing an explosion of ice as it rolled across the marble to the ankle of an unfamiliar face.
"Ah, be careful with that! It's extremely volatile, you know."
Dust Goes Flying â Weiss and Livio â
After having finally navigated that horrendous excuse for a map, Weiss arrived at her intended destination- the martial arts dojo. Though it was quite the delicate and peaceful scene with fluttering cherry blossoms (which she still does not fully understand prospering indoors), the heiress planned to disturb the scene in order to justify her entrapment.
This was meant to be a place of steadying the body and soul, and she was a stark contrast. In comparison to the tranquility, her form of training was an erratic ball of energy that couldn't be tamed. Or, better yet, a ball of Dust.
Speaking of, here she was with Myrtenaster, honing her agility and her timing her ability to swap the different chambers of Dust. Of course, that was the proper method to effectively combo without even giving your opponent a fighting chance. Though perhaps looking quite strange, Weiss slashed mercilessly at the innocent air, rapidly switching between her rapier's chambers. Each crank brought forth a different effect, be it increased abilities or powers all their own.
Though, she was being rather noisy, and was likely to attract undesired outside attention. Weiss managed to notice in between transitions that there was some unidentifiable person intruding. Well, wasn't this becoming a common occurrence. At least they weren't being rude and barging in.
"I'm sorry, do you need something?"
