Lanfear, Wheel of Time

My recreation of Lanfear's Tel'aran'rhiod outfit from Amazon's Wheel of Time Season 2.

This is absolutely my big costume this con. I have no idea how many hours were spent in planning, patterning, sewing, and carving the leather to replicate the costume. Nor how much money was spent on leather and new leather tools. Dress is 4 different leathers; I hand carved the pin striping on the skirt and bodice. Crown is 3 layers of heavy card stock cut using Cameo. Hopefully I did justice to @sharon_gilham_costume_design design and the team that made to original. All the costumes in Wheel of Time are stunning works of art. What I love about all of Lanfears looks are the references to classic business clothes. Like this leather look has pin striping and one extreme shoulder pad.

Mercymorn the First is joined by Augustine the Frist (my sweet husband who hasn't read the books but has listened to me prattle on for ages about them). We go big every year for Halloween decorations and it was Harrow's (@twinklebat99) idea to do a Locked Tomb photo shoot this year. Sadly our friend who was going to be Jod couldn't make it so it's a limited dios apate minor. Our first photographer sent us nearly 1,000 images from the shoot.
