Happy Spring Equinox, we are slowly waking up at the Soapbox Distillery. We have some exciting news which felt right to share today. On the 15th of February 2023, the lovely Thomas Petherick from the @biodynamicuk visited to assess our distillery garden for organic certification. We are delighted to announce that we were accepted and that we are currently in the standard 'two year organic conversion period', after this time our distillery garden will be certified organic. This means that in 2 years time, some of the organic botanicals used in our gins will be homegrown and hand picked from the distillery garden. Day XXII of @soapboxspirits retro virtual advent calendar is the Pothecary Gin Cinnamon Twist Blend hot G&Tea cocktail. Our hot G&Tea cocktail is available to enjoy @WinchesterCathedralChristmasMarket today between 10am and 6pm, we are located in the @hampshirefare chalet. The hot G&Tea can be made at home as follows; Ingredients: 50ml Organic Pothecary Gin Cinnamon Twist Blend 2 Organic chamomile tea bags A little sugar to taste, optional A garnish of fresh, or candied orange Method: Boil the kettle and make 2 cups of chamomile tea in a tea pot. Add a 50ml measure of ‘Cinnamon Twist’ to the tea pot. Pour into 2 teacups, add sugar to taste. Garnish with a slice of fresh orange, or candied orange slice. Method: Add the gin and vermouth to a mixing glass with half a dozen large cubes of ice, stir for 15-20 seconds. Pour this through a strainer into an ice cold 'Martini' glass, garnish with zest of lemon, sip and enjoy! Happy Friday, our advent calendar for today is a cocktail! Who would like a Negroni Bianco Sour cocktail? 25ml Pothecary Gin Original 25ml Bitter Bianco 25ml Lillet Blanc 30ml Lemon juice 15ml Simple syrup 1 egg white Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and dry shake till frothy. Add ice and wet shake till shaker is frothy. Double strain into a chilled glass. Optional garnish of snow meringue.
