Hello everyone. This is my dad Samrith. Sadly he recently passed away from cancer. My dad started to feel so much pain in his abdomen in early March. At first, he didn’t think much of it. He thought he must’ve ate something wrong. But it started to get worse to the point he couldn’t work and live his life how he normally did. Towards the end of March, we brought him to the hospital to get him checked up, and they did a biopsy on his liver where he said he felt most of the pain. We had to wait 2-3 weeks to get his results which was quite long as he was getting worse by then. We got the results and saw that his abdomen was abnormal. The nurse set up his appointment at the Cancer center. In mid April, he had a scan to see where the cancer was. We had an appointment next week to talk to his doctor about the unidentifiable cancer. As the doctor was looking at his scans he told my dad he has liver and bone cancer. It was May, and my dad had appointments every week. He went through radiation therapy and chemo therapy. Once he started chemo, he got worse. He was unable to eat and walk. He had lost about 60 pounds in 2 months. The next appointment, the nurse told me she was worried, since my dad was unable to consume calories, he couldn’t get treatment since he was too thin. On the last 2 weeks of June, my dad took a break from chemo because of how overly tired and sick he felt. The nurses gave him hydration fluids to help boost his energy, which helped him. On the first week of July, he seemed to be doing alright as he had the energy to be up. Though, he couldn’t walk much, he was in a wheelchair and he was happy to finally be outside. Until July 9th, around 11:00pm, my dad was on the ground in pain. He couldn’t breathe nor stand at all. It was painful to see him suffer in front of my sight. We called the ambulance and they took him to the hospital where he stayed 4 days. His condition was very poor. My family and I knew he was going to pass away soon at stage 2 liver cancer. The cancer had already spread and was untreatable. Before he got discharged, his wish was to pass away at home, where he was comfortable and with all of us. So, as a family we decided to fulfill his wish and do hospice. On July 21st, at 11:45pm, he was gone. My dad was a strong man. He held on as long as he could to say goodbye to everyone that he loved. He was a father, friend and a grandfather. He has always been kind to everyone and considerate. He will be missed so much. Even though our family misses him, we are so happy he’s not suffering anymore, and that he’s finally at peace. The week before his passing he couldn’t stop worrying about our family since he was one of the main supporters that put a roof over our heads and food on the table. We promised him that we’ll be strong and support each other for him and for ourselves. If you can, please help our family by donating to his gofundme which will be used to pay his medical bills and to bring him back home to Laos. It would mean so much to us. You can even donate as little $5. If not, please share this. Thank you to those who’ve already donated. 💞 We appreciate it a lot. Help us fulfill his wish and lift his worries. REST IN PEACE DAD WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH. 🙏💕 THANK YOU FOR BEING OUR DAD.
