MICKEY 17 (2025) dir. Bong Joon Ho
She's always loved me. Every me. Even him. The me I don't understand at all. // Mickey is not some cookie you can split in half. 17 and 18 are both Mickey. Both my Mickey.
MICKEY 17 (2025) dir. Bong Joon Ho
What if all your rage and pain and anger was a person and it had your face but it did and said things you didn't, couldn't understand things that scared you things that made you think "that can't be me" but it is you it's a part of you and it says it hates you, hates that you're weak but slowly you realize. this part of you that is so scary and dangerous is actually doing all those confusing things for You to protect you to try and get you to stand up and say. no more. No More I deserve better than this. you realize that they don't actually hate you they love you because you are them and they are you and they are so angry for you and they give their life to save you so you can finally Finally have a chance to be happy. What then ?
Nasha, she's the only one who's always been there for me. She's always loved me. Every me.

Babe wake up. Would you still love me if i split myself into two people, one ‘evil’ and one ‘good’. But actually just one who runs from pain and one who faces it. And we thought we lived in two different realities but actually one of us just succeeded in following societal rules and one failed. And it didn’t make us any happier but we’re still jealous. So now I am simultaneously the wolf and dog and the lamb and Caine and Abel and Pollux and Castor. Because this divide simultaneously protected and smothered each other. And we hated and envied and pitied each other and refused to see that we are the same person but we are and things would be better if we just accepted this but we never will and no one else will and if anyone did see all these parts of us and loved us anyways we would push them away. And this will only ever end with both of us dying but we were never really alive anyways. Okay now what if I was a worm
Mickey 17 was sooooo good. I really liked Mickey 18's view of 17 especially. the concept of seeing a representation of yourself outside of you and being so disgusted by yourself that you shout at it and belittle it... feeling like you're having a constant mirror held to the most pathetic, snivelling parts of you. hating that version of yourself and wanting it dead and wanting it gone, but then seeing your partner still love that version of you, too. and how could you want to kill something that your partner loves?

nasha was THE highlight of Mickey 17 she actually felt like a character and not just the demure, loving girlfriend, she was messy and jealous and obsessive and it was such a fun watch, like she was literally this
