We´re back!
We took a little break to give some adventures and projects a go and are back just as colourful as you know us!
Today we´d love to put our spotlight on another all-time-favourite artist who painted a beautiful mural at one of our all-time-favourite cafĂŠs (say hello âŞ#âsaborermosoâŹ! <3 ) in  âŞ#âcologne⏠- don´t miss The Art of PAU Quintanajornet!
When discribing herself and her artwork, PAU puts it perfectly right: "Pau doesnât paint pictures. Pau creates worlds â open invitations to a journey into the beauty of Latin American influences and into the spheres of an artist, who with paper, wood, and ink playfully turns her world inside out.
The cleavage between âŞ#âcultures⏠loosens up. From the friction between her Chilian roots and her German home she draws her own symbolism of strong women, who grow out of the ground like plants rising to the sky. Birds also occupy a large space in Pauâs World: symbols for wisdom and peace, spreading their wings and being free spirits, coping with highs and lows."
Wanna know more about streetart in Cologne? Here´s a nice article on it by WE ARE CITY: http://www.wearecity.de/desâŚ/beliebteste-street-art-in-koeln (GER)
We love her âŞ#âcolourful⏠"worlds" a lot and are very happy to have the possibility of seeing it almost every day <3
Spotlight on the âŞ#âchilecologneconnectionâŹ!
We keep our life colourful with our todays´ spotlight on âŞ#âPARISâŹ!
We´re happy to see that street art talent C215 does not leave only one colour behind after what happened in the âŞ#âCityOfLoveâŹ.
""I try to interact with context, so I place in the streets elements and characters that belong especially to the streets. I like to show things and people that society aims at keeping hidden: homeless people, smokers, street kids, bench lovers for example." - he says about his art and message on his wesite http://www.c215.fr/C215/ABOUT.html
As you can imagine, we like this state of mind a lot! âheartâ-Emoticon
C215, Christian GuÊmy, is a Parisian street artist focused on stencil graffiti who started spray painting in 2005, so let´s celebrate his 16 years of colourful creativity!
Wanna know, what Obey Giant thinks about this âŞ#âcolourloving⏠guy from France?
""C215's art captures a light, depth, and humanity that is difficult, and rare using stencils, his chosen medium. Stencils tend to flatten images and make them static, but C215 has developed a style of illustrating and stenciling that yields an impressionistic illumination of his subject's character. Even though his technique is meticulously refined, C215's work transcends the formal and seems to get to the core of compassion and belief in the human spirit. Encountering C215's pieces on the street is always makes me happy" (Obey Giant on C215)
Yesso Obey, it makes us happy, too, so thank you Christian for beautiful art!

Were back with a spotlight on âŞ#âCOLOMBIAâŹ!
We´re very happy to introduce Felipe Bedoya Art from Colombia, as we´re big big fans of his beautiful âŞ#âartâŹ!
"Some may like and some may dislike the universe created by Felipe Bedoya, as it's apparently looks all cute and beautiful, but beneath each illustration there's a lot of dark secrets hidden. This Colombian mate is one of the top notch artist from the Lowbrow movement in latin america (...)." (http://abduzeedo.com/surreal-and-beautiful-world-felipe-bedâŚ)
So, we´re definitely team Felipe and we´re especially in love with his O-M-O art series (see pictures below, all to be found on his Behance profile)! <3
Felipe is an artist/ illustrator from Cali, based in BogotĂĄ, Colombia who "explores and reveals three main reoccurring themes of sex, religion and duality in his work. " (Empty Kingdom)
Definitely topics worth working about!

We keep the colours fresh with a spotlight on Argentina!
Martin Ron is definitely one of our favourites these days, when it comes to fantastic colourful murals and paintings.
"His artworks, often described as âurban surrealismâ, stand out for their visual impact and grand scale. The key characteristic of his work fuses an incredible use of the technique of hyper-realism combined with elements of fantasy to create unique compositions on walls and buildings. Martin paints impossible situations that give the impression of happening in real life.
Besides giving street art workshops in the University of Tres de Febrero, Martin is also director of a countywide programme called: âUrban Embellishmentâ managed by the local council. The project helps transform the urban landscape through artistic interventions on abandoned walls and public spaces." (http://www.martinron.com.ar/)
Martin Ron constantly works on colouring urban life and this is much appreciated! One of the pieces below is a beautiful collaboration with THG'S - we like! âheartâ-Emoticon
Also thanks to Buenos Aires street art who always keep an eye on the biggest south american talents!

Our motto for 2016: Keep your life colourful! âheartâ-Emoticon
And for the sake of this, we´d love to introduce the colourful artwork by South African artist Kilmany-Jo Liversage Artist to you guys. Her paintings aren´t just some of the most colourful you can get, but also want to bring up "a universally recognizable sense of familiarity" which we like a lot!
"I draw inspiration from street culture and source portrait images from mass media and social networks. The portraits are randomly selected and although the person portrayed might not be familiar to the viewer, it conjures up a universally recognizable sense of familiarity. The viewer is confronted with a complete stranger, yet senses a mutual common ground." (http://www.kilmanyjo.com/)
Kilmany-Jo also worked for the Aids Awareness workshop with the Department for Poverty Alleviation, Western Cape, South Africa.
We love her work, keep going Kilmany!

When we´re listening to our favourite Global Music radiostation Funkhaus Europa this morning, we heard about something great, we´d like to tell you guys!
One of our favourite bands, Bukahara, recorded their song "New Home" once again and what came out is a wonderful musicvideo (in a collaboration with FEEDMEE Design) with refugees from all over the world in Cologne, singing the song.
"It is this mysterious mix that makes Bukahara unique. Psychedelic swing, Arabic reggae, Balkan jazz, or even folk hip hop, are funny sounding genres that are not necessarily contradictions." (Bukahara about their music)
The most wonderful part of this story? If you buy the song, the complete prodeeds will be donated to organisations which support and work with refugees.
We love this initiative! âheartâ-Emoticon
If you wanna support, get the song on iTunes: http://smarturl.it/Bukahara_NewHome?IQid=facebook

Thanks to one of our readers, we got the chance to put some spotlight on Huelva, Spain! Let´s introduce Man o Matic to you guys!
When Marcia told us about him, she said about Adrian that "he´s like no other!" and this is exactly what we thought, when we got a look on his stunning artwork!
His pieces are not only one-of-its-kind, beautiful street art, but also put some critical perspective on social and political issues - we like!
Wanna see, how one of this beautiful murals was created and see more of his work? Have a look at Sioke or here:

As we´ve  recently seen a stunning new collaboration between aptART - Awareness & Prevention Through Art and one of our favourite social issues art maker Jonathan Darby ART in Jordan, we´d like to put some explicit spotlight on him and his beautiful work in Jordan, especially in Jordanian refugee camps.
"Jonathan Darby spent his youth at a Rudolf Steiner School in Hertfordshire. After being expelled from the Steiner school and having no A-level qualifications Jonathan was offered an unconditional place in Central Saint Martins, London. In 2008 Jonathan graduated with a BA Honours in Fine Art.
Jonathanâs artistic concern deals with socio-political and humanitarian themes. His work portrays people in a cultural context where the innocent and vulnerable have been impacted by forces of social, economic and political change. His focus is on children, as he believes they can and will determine the future. The experiences they encounter now may have severe consequences for them and the future of their society." (http://www.jonathandarby.com/info/)
Thanks for doing this, Jonathan, your work is so very inspiring!
His pieces are stunning and his message is wonderful.
He´s been part of collaborations with TakamolJordan and the USAID - US Agency for International Development in Jordan, which we hope will keep going with such brilliant projects.

Today, we´d like to share a truely wonderful project from Santa Ana, California.
FACES OF SANTA ANA is a project by Brian Peterson, a California based artist and it âis shedding light on the lives and stories of the local homeless community, one beautiful painting at a time. The initiative was created by artist and automotive designer Brian Peterson after he moved to Santa Ana, California three months ago and noticed the large homeless population in the area.â (My Modern Met)
âBrian Peterson is a California artist who is changing lives. In his new painting project, Faces of Santa Ana, Peterson paints local homeless residents in Santa Ana, sells the pictures, and uses some of the profits to help them get back on their feet.â (GOOD Magazine)
We think, FACES OF SANTA ANA is one of the most beautiful projects these days as it puts some light on people, many don´t really care about. Homelessness is a huge social issue which unfortunately sometimes seems to be forgotten.
Thank you, Brian, for doing this!

Very impressive, Plasticjesus!
âStreet art campaign brightens Gaza refugee campâ
What a wonderful project! <3
30 artists created some colourful happiness for the people living in the Al-Shati Refugee Camp in Gaza, which we think is heartwarming <3
âAt the Al-Shati refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, the streets and walls of many of the homes have been splashed with color by 30 painters in an effort to bring some cheer to an area usually associated with war and poverty. The "Better Gaza" campaign is aimed at giving the Al-Shati camp - home to some 82,000 Palestinian refugees - a new face by adorning its homes and public spaces with colourful images of trees, flowers and butterflies.â (Middle East Monitor)
We say thank you for this beautiful idea.
As this awesome exhibition will take place until the 10th of January, we don´t wanna miss the chance to highly recommend it to you guys.
âILUSTRAR LA LIBERTAD - Postales para AmnistĂa Internacionalâ will show you lots of beautiful artwork by different artists who illustrated pieces for Amnesty International Madrid!
One of our all time favourite artists, Paula Bonet, was one of them and you have the chance to see her stunning artwork at the Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid. Like the other artist for this project, Paula took the challange to illustrate pieces unter the topic "Illustrate the freedom. 52 prisoners of conscience. 48 images of solidarity."
âThe campaign was born in the year 2000 of the generous collaboration of Spanish artists and the desire of thousands of people sending words of solidarity to prisoners of conscience unjustly imprisoned for peacefully to defend their ideas in different parts of the world. The idea is simple: to send these people prey thousands of Postcards Illustrated with messages of encouragement and solidarity. There are two objectives: let them know that they are not alone and put pressure on governments demanding his release.â (Paula Bonet on Facebook)
We love the initiative and the idea to show some solidarity with unjustly imprisoned people!
When you´re around, don´t miss the chance to see and support it!
