This is Orson Carmichael. Generation 1 of my legacy family.Ā
Orson was kicked out at a young age; he had to figure things out for himself. With $50, a lot of determination, and a 20x20 plot of land, he moved to Pleasantview and built this tiny bungalow over time from the ground up.
His dream is to become a city planner, so naturally he started studying some skills.Ā
His first year in Pleasantview was a busy one. At first, to make ends meet, Orson picked up a job washing dishes at the local diner. Not exactly glamorous, but it paid the bills for a while. Soon after moving in, Darren Dreamer stopped by to welcome him to the neighborhood, and the two surprisingly became good friends over the coming months. As it turns out, Darren had a connection in architecture and, thanks to it (and perhaps a little neighborhood nepotism), Orson landed a position as a Cement Mixer and began climbing the grueling corporate ladder.
The next few months were spent grinding skills, making friends, and working his way up the career ladder. By midwinter, heād already reached Level 4: āHead of Construction Company.ā
Not bad for a guy who started with almost nothing at all.Ā
Of course, work wasnāt the only thing keeping Orson busy.
While out at a nightclub for a āwork thing,ā he met Marissa Bendette. It was love at first sight for both. They were inseparable after that. They spent the rest of winter together, and before the season was over, Orson made a surprise proposal at Bernard's Botanical Dining on a whim. Of course she said yes!
It was quick, but he already had the want locked in. I wasnāt about to stop him.
Marissa celebrated with a day out to the boutiques for a wedding dress, while the couple started planning a wedding on a thin budget.
On the second day of spring, Orson and Marissa were married in a small garden ceremony behind their home. A few familiar neighbors attended, including Mortimer and Cassandra Goth, Nina Caliente, Darren Dreamer, and several other friends and family.Ā
At exactly 2:49 PM, they tied the knot under the crisp spring air.Ā
The wedding went somewhat decentĀ
Ā by my standards. Nobody got left at the altar, nobody died, nobody started a brawl, though the wedding didnāt exactly get a great review from some of the guests.Ā
After the wedding, Marissa finally admitted what sheād been thinking for⦠15 minutes: the little one-bedroom bungalow was charming, but it wasnāt exactly the place she imagined starting a family.
After not so much convincing, Orson agreed.
The newlyweds have begun looking for houses around Pleasantview. Just something a small family could settle into and have room to grow. Ā
For now, theyāre searching for the perfect place to start the next chapter of their lives here.Ā
After all, every good family starts with a house. The real challenge is what happens after they move in.
P.S... Phewwww that was a lot to write. It's actually been in my drafts for days while I revised it. Not every post will be this long or overwhelming but I just wanted to give you all a proper introduction!
