I received some bad news the other day, so I felt a strong need to do vent art. This year has not gone the way I wanted. A friend sent me a Midra cutscene from the Elden Ring DLC, and I thought I was looking into a mirror 🤡 (I haven't played Elden Ring, I just felt his vibes)

Uploads have slowed down a bit due to me trying to finish several pieces at once. I have an upcoming art exhibition irl, so I have to make sure everything is ready in time 😅 I have some TNMN fanarts in the works that I'm itching to finish. Might also make a post showing my process because I'd love to give and receive tips on how to improve.

I decided to do Abducius. Despite the eye thing, he seems weirdly approachable? Not sure how to describe the vibes he gives me, maybe Freddy Krueger with golden retriever energy? I think he'd be friendly and upbeat, even when mutilating people. I gave him a little tummy strap for carrying metal spikes, which kind of looks like a smiley face hehe.

I use Promarkers, I have a pretty big collection of them. People say they're not as good as Copic markers, but I find Promarkers to be easier to work with (plus they're cheaper). For dramatic black shadows, I use an ink brush pen from Zig Kuretake. For white highlights, I use white gel roll pens from Sakura. They are perfect for creating glossy-looking eyes.

My sketch books are from Talens. They are pretty good quality and I like the feel of the paper. Markers do bleed through the pages, however, so I have to put a copy paper in between the page I'm coloring and the next so it doesn't bleed too much 😬

I just realized that the doppelgängers are like artists trying to create the likeness of a person based on a reference. I relate to the ones who mess up just enough for them to look off. Sometimes you just can't seem to get it right, but you don't know where you fucked up 🤡🤡🤡

I'm not really into serial killers ngl, but fictional ones get a pass. I hope the Psycho reference didn't overshadow the character, I tried to make him look as Francis-y as I could 🙈
