Helios- AKA old cringe poetry from almost 4 years ago.

If ever I were to find enough hours in the night, 

To long for your rays of dripping honey, surely such time,

Would never be enough to ease the longing in my soul come morning light, 

Unyielding to time, as you dance across the stone, smooth and sublime. 

I thank Helios for you resurrection, and curse him all the same, 

For the muses curse me with madness, if madness is to be love, 

I place ink to paper in dejection, for surely the words cannot capture, 

the essence of you, golden heat, a forgotten warmth, I foolishly try to attain, 

Here in my longing hours of moonlight, out of reach thereof, 

Of the heavenly richness of the morning sky, and the barest caress of rapture. 

If ever I were to find enough hours in the night,

For my weak and tender soul to spill secrets without remand, 

And to give my heart a single nights’ respite, 

From the ache of longing you have placed within me, unmanned, 

I would beg again for madness, of surety most divine, 

For surely you are divine, and worship is all I can give, 

My love a moonlit prayer, an offering from beneath the endless nighttime sky, 

I watch you cast your golden halo from the safety of my paper shrine,
