Is this us twin ??
If someone informs me they go by multiple pronouns (she/he/they etc) I'm making it my personal mission to use each different pronoun when referring to him. I will put all the pronouns in a hat and draw each time I need to talk about her, therefore ensuring each pronoun gets a turn.
A few people have asked me about the lore for Ampelos and Owliver and today is the day that I provide the knowledge that you seek.
I am going to link both of their unvale profiles. There is a lot of information in the writing section so go catch yourself up on the lore if you feel like it!

Thank you so much for being interested in my OCs, I put a lot of time and brainpower into these guys and it's lovely to see that people think they're neat :)
Taglist of people who have expressed their interest: @shrimp-lord-of-hell @appledognugget @aster-pollux (if you want to be tagged in OC stuff, lmk!)

Weirdly Specific Artist Ask Game
Didn't see a lot of artist ask games, wanted to make a silly one.
(I wrote this while sick out of my mind last year and it's been collecting dust in my drafts, I might as well let it run free) 1. Art programs you have but don't use
2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)
3. What ideas come from when you were little
4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in
9. What are your file name conventions
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw
11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what
12. Easiest part of body to draw
13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing
14. Any favorite motifs
15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth)
16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing
17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what
18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken
19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.)
20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy
21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways
22. What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any
23. Do you use different layer modes
24. Do your references include stock images
25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by
26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended
27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with
28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)
29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated
uhm mmmm
1: Procreate, i got it but it’s too complicated for my stupid brain
2: i’m a big fan of right side profiles! a lot of my fav artists do a lot of them and i think that influenced me.
3: i draw a lot of robots! i used to be super into sci-fi and cyberpunky stuff as a little kid and even now that carries over to my art. my stuff is usually a lot more extreme in either a technical or whimsical direction nowadays tho.
4: i really wanna draw more birds but they just won’t fucking sit still and references are so limited.
5: i very rarely post anything online nowadays. i should get back into doing that.
6: kinda obvious considering my recent post history but probably Fallen London and it’s universe. obviously i love the world and the artists are some of the best i’ve seen and it’s all done in a very unique and cohesive style that i really love, but on a more subconscious level, a lot of the techniques and framing styles they use bleed into my own art. probs bc i’ve been exposed to so much of it bc of the hyperfixation.
7: i have so much admiration for ppl who use charcoals. every time i try to use them they’re just so finicky.
8: i did a LOT of buildings when i was starting out. but now i just find them boring. too much of a good thing ig.
9: name my files! the very thought! nay, i suffer through opening each and every one of them until i find the one i’m looking for.
10: i fucking LOVE drawing baggy clothes. it gives me so much wiggle room to play with styles and accessories as compared to form fitting clothes. i am myself also a baggy clothes enjoyer, i don’t think i’ve owned a single article of clothing except for concert black and shoes that wasn’t at least 2 sizes too big. not since i was like 10.
11: i use Pandora bc i’m a broke ass so i usually just pop on one of my stations and vibe. i listen to a lot of punk! if i’m drawing a character and i find a song that comes up to be particularly character coded i’ll loop it for actual hours till i’m done.
12: ears. i always put way too much detail into them.
13: i really technically admire a lot of old renaissance artists. Boticelli, da Vince, Raphael, etcetera. there’s a lot of mechanical skill and precision in those pieces, but i’ve never been one for biblical scenes and the like.
14: BIRDS. I FUCKING LOVE BIRDS. THEY’RE SO VERSATILE. A BIRD SOARING FREE? SYMBOLIC OF SELF ACTUALIZATION. A BIRD WITH A CLIPPED WING? SYMBOLIC OF SOCIETAL OPPRESSION! i also just like to draw them. they’re such teeny lil guys.
15: i am a desk enjoyer. i have a VERY comfy office chair for this exact reason.
16: i actually can’t think of a visual art that i don’t rlly enjoy tbh.
17: water. i’m boring and basic i know. my throat dries out rlly fast.
18. probably a few hundred pencils when i was a kid and got frustrated. now i just scream into my pillow bc i can’t afford to break any of my expensive art supplies.
19: i rlly like trees. they’re so varied and it gives me a good opportunity to practice.
20: an eye. i’ve seen a lot of ppl complain abt it but it’s just never rlly fussed me, TWO EYES ON THE OTHER HAND.
21: Simon Stålenhag and Hieronymus Bosch! two wildly different artists i know, but i adore them both for a variety of reasons.
22: i just drink a cup of coffee or chug a five hour energy to wake me up and stop my hands shaking. caffeine is weird for me.
23: i would actually die without them.
24: yes. big fan of mr. john white guy from shutterstock.
25: i’ve been told my art looks like i play clarinet?? (i don’t)
26: i doodle birds and trees and nature in my spare time but it’s not rlly my focus but a lot of my friends seem to like them more than my more serious drawings.
27: i don’t rlly. the piece is my warmup, specifically fucking up a line about 9 times before getting into the groove.
28: sadly no :c.
29: Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts! very 2000’s-esque Netflix show that actually started out as a webcomic.
30: like i said i don’t rlly actively show off my art much, so i can’t rlly say.
uhhh let’s see who do i know that’s an artist
@gummy-axolotl @cunt-force-therapy i think @anonnzone
OH ALSO @shidraoftheworldpillar
Krita, I've heard good things about it I just can't figure it out
Depends on the subject. For humanoid creatures it's easier to draw them from the front, but for regular monsters it's easier to draw them facing left
Dragons and biopunk style body horror (we grew up playing Starcraft II and the zerg are huge influence for our character designs)
Necrozma from pokemom. Ultra necrozma is fairly easy, but the regular one? Super fucking difficult
We only post like 5% of our art at the most
Zerg from starcraft II, Hollow Knight, Rain World
Paint. I hate painting but have insane respect for anyone who's good at it. Our mom used to be a painter actually lmao
This world we made in like 6th grade. It's gone through so many different remakes and rewrites and I still like ideas from it but I've just kinda given up on it ngl
Ydoydoxitoyxoytd or something shitposty
Cloak/capes. I love drawing characters that are literally just triangles with legs
Usually music or sometimes stupid reading reddit videos
Tails are pretty easy
Idk
LOTS OF EYES PUT MORE EYES ON THAT MOTHERFUCKER
At home or at school. I'm very paranoid about people looking over my shoulder so only in places where my back is facing the wall or I know I'm completely alone.
G
No. We only realize that we're a mortal vessel that requires food and water once we stop drawing
Not a lot. All of our mechanical pencils end up having the clip snapped off though
Ribbons. I love drawing ribbons so much. Long flowy shapes my beloved
honestly idk
Also Simon Stålenhag and Sheather
None
Yeah
Yeah stock images are so unhinged and they make really funny reference images
I don't member :(
Our godfather always sees expressions in stuff that doesn't have them
I don't think so? Usually like worms and stuff

@arinasky @ratinastack @confusedeldritch @randalcandal
1. I don't have any that I don't use. I do have and use Procreate, and Adobe Fresco, Procreate, and Lightroom Classic.
2. Facing forward.
3. I've had a really good sense of color since I was little, and I often use vibrant colors in my art.
4. idk?
5. I don't really post any of my art, but I should. I would say maybe 2% currently? I've been meaning to make an art sideblog here for a while now, maybe I should get to that!
6. idk?
7. Poetry, writing, songwriting
8. There's so many of them, and I don't remember many. Usually I start a project, get a new idea, and get sidetracked with that, abandoning the old one. Then repeat.
9. for digital art, usually it has to do with the subject or character. for photography, either formatted like [model/subject_edited], [subject_scan] or like [MyLastname_MyFirstname_ProjectTitle_SequenceNumber(03 for example)].
10. I don't really like drawing clothing, often I just draw the head to torso length. I guess form-fitting clothes with minimal to no folds, since that's usually how I draw clothing.
11. I'm always listening to music anyways lol. Sometimes it depends on the vibe of what I'm drawing, like drawing an OC while listening to their character playlist for example.
12. I like drawing faces, especially eyes and noses.
13. idk?
14. idk?
15. at school, in my bed, on my floor, on the couch.
16. I'm pretty good at drawing things super detailed (like with still-life and landscape) but it takes a long time and I get too meticulously obsessed over it so it isn't enjoyable.
17. No, for me it gets in the way (distracting and messy), unfortunately this does mean that when I get hyper focused on my art I do not eat or drink for a long time 😅
18. I don't break my supplies so much as wear them out to the point I need to replace them, usually with markers and pens (especially felt-tipped ones), they run out of ink, and the tips get smushed and dried out over time.
19. Hair!!! Hair and all of its pretty shapes! also accessories: earrings, bracelets, hairclips, etc
20. Architecture (with 3- or 4- point perspective grids), I've been getting into it recently and I think it's fun!
21. idk?
22. none, but sometimes I stretch my arms, shoulders, and spine while I'm drawing because I'm always crouching in some weird posture lol
23. sometimes clipping mask to color the line art if I feel like it, but usually stick with the basic layer modes.
24. yeah occasionally, I like looking up pose references on Pinterest and some are stock images.
25. idk?
26. idk?
27. not really, I just immediately get into working on my more time consuming projects. I like working in shorter periods of time, 30 minutes to 2 hours at a time, and I slowly make progress on them until I'm finished.
28. Artfight and Inktober!
29. I don't make much fanart in general, I really enjoy lots of media but I'm not usually inspired to make art of them. I should try making more fanart honestly!
30. idk?
Thank you for the tag! These prompts were fun to think about! :D
@aster-pollux @panic-at-the-general-vicinity @i-dont-actually-like-oatmeal @marshmallowmuncher
1. IbisPaint, I also have Procreate dreams, ToonSquid, and FlipaClip for animating and I haven't really used those often (though I want to start more)
2. Forward and 3/4 angles are easiest for me.
3. I honestly don’t know, but im sure that there are some.
4. Any of my characters with digitigrade legs. There’s a few of them and its always a struggle to draw the legs.
5. I’d say I probably post 30%? I do a lot of sketches that never get finished, and projects like zines and murals that I don't post. The percentage probably goes up if I’m focusing at something like fanart at the time though.
6. Ill bet there’s ways to tell i used to be super into wings of fire from the way i draw dragons. Haven’t drawn them in a while though.
7. Oil panting! It’s such a cool medium, and id love to learn, but i really dont need any more art supplies to buy…. And it’s expensive. I’ve seen some truly amazing oil paintings, i think its such a stunning medium!
8. I had some ideas for comics and stories i just never finished or followed through with.
9. I typically don't name anything consistently (I just leave most things untitled), but when I do and if the drawing is in my Procreate library, it’s name might be a description of what it is with the first letter of every word capitalized (Melpomene Reference Sheet, Melpomene Outfit Drafts, Alzir Comic Strip, etc.). If it’s in a shared folder like Google Drive, I’ll name it the same way but replacing spaces with underscores (Charater_Reference_Sheet_Template). I have a more organized naming system for my writing (which is mostly comic scripts and stuff). It’s typically organized by what it is, then a title or description (Comic- Melpomene’s misery, Dialogue Writing- Eos and Delphi, Animation- Do you think we’re together in every universe?(Al and Eos), etc.).
10. Thick sweaters and coats! I think theyre super fun and i love when they have baggy sleeves or lantern sleeves.
11. I listen to music a lot, what genre it is depends on the day. I also like podcasts, specifically in the horrors genre (like the Magnus archives, red valley, and so so many more. right now ive been listening to the silt verses).
12. Eyes! That’s it. Everything is difficult. Even eyes half the time.
13. cant really think of any right now
14. I love all sorts of motifs, i dont know if i can pick one…. I love motifs like stars and flowers, repeating patterns, and also teeth, bones and organs.
15. I do lots of drawing in my room either at my desk or in my bed (sometimes on the floor). I’ll also draw in school, and sometimes in the bus or anywhere in public if i have my sketchbook. If im not driving and im on a long car trip ill draw then too.
16. Not really sure. Anything that takes a while i guess? I can get bored with things sometimes and then they get lost to the depths of my procreate library.
17. Yes, often just snacks like fruit or chips, and mostly water, but sometimes juice or a soda depending on what i have at the time.
18. Not sure, not a lot but also not a little. If i break something it’s often not a big thing, it’s usually still functional just inconvenient. I did accidentally rust my favorite dip pen nib, i still need to fix that.
19. I like drawing tools and art supplies and stuff like that (like my leather working tools, or my paintbrushes, etc.). Often its just things around me.
20. I see some people complain about hair, and id agree that it can be difficult, but i really enjoy drawing it. There’s just so much you can do with it!
21. Super rendered and paint-like artstyles, as well as actual paintings.
22. I dont do anything specific before drawing, Ill stretch if i feel like it though.
23. Yes! I dont really have a go-to layer mode, i just pick a color and mess around with the modes until i like how it looks. Add is good for highlights though.
24. Yeah, sometimes.
25. I dont think ive gotten much comparisons with my art, so i cant think of any.
26. dont have one
27. Somtimes, when im drawing realism. Ill warm up by drawing gestures and 30 second figures, or whatever’s around me.
28. Artfight! I did it last year, though I wasn’t super active and didnt put up any characters until the end of the month. I’m super exited for this year though! I’ve also done murals, one which was up for a few years, and im working on one right now.
29. no clue
30. Honestly i have no idea, i have a love/hate relationship with my art most of the time.
Thanks for the tag!
@socksthebat @kosthefearsome +anyone else who wants to join!
I have Krita, but I barely ever use it
Portraits from the front are wonderfully easy and fun to draw for me
I've always loved to draw faeries and fae so I suppose that comes from when I was little
Drawing Owliver's side profile can be so infuriatingly hard because of his beak nose. I'm still never going to change the beak nose though
Vast majority of my digital art gets posted online, but pretty much all of my sketchbook art never sees the light of day
Music tends to give me ideas for stories and scenes. Artists like The Mechanisms really stir up animatic ideas (that never get finished lol)
I'm terrible at photobashing, but it's such a gorgeous and visceral medium. If you can photobash, I envy you greatly
I was going to make a webcomic about a harpy and a modern day witch, but I quickly lost interest lol. I would like to do something with the story one day, but for the moment I'm far too interested in Ampelos and Owliver
Either "uhh" or "uhm" followed by an identifiable name or an identifiable name followed by "type shit" or "oogly boogly"
Flowy sleeves. I love flowy sleeves
I like to listen to things related to what I'm drawing. Recently I've been doing a lot of artfight prep so I've been watching a lot of videos of people artfight prepping or even guides on artfight even though I'm not really a newbie anymore
Gonna be the head/face
I'm honestly really not sure. I suppose it would depend on what you mean by 'work isn't my thing'
Birds and spirals
Bedroom
Not sure. I tend to like doing things I'm good at tbh
I tend to just drink tea. Yorkshire if we're being specific
Many pencils and pens have died by my hand
Oooh, that's quite difficult considering I only really draw characters. Do clothes count? I only ask because technically they are on a character
I quite like doodling hands
Pixel art is beautiful and also incredibly hard to do
I probably should, but I don't do any.
The only layer mode I use other than the default one is overlay
Yeah, sometimes
My art hasn't ever been compared to anything before, actually
I drew a doll reference of my fursona and someone asked me why I was drawing furry NSFW
I generally just draw generic faces before drawing something proper
I do artfight and I've been in a few MAPs before (Multi animator projects)
Video games don't tend to inspire me, even though I do love quite a few
Any OC art I make doesn't tend to get much engagement, but I think that's true for all artists tbh
Thank you so much for tagging me!
@mx-maledictus @jukebug3 @ezlusivity
Did you guys know that changelings are one of the pastiest creatures on earth? Of course, the creature that takes the crown of 'palest fucker known to man' is me, but that's neither here nor there.
What if we held hands,,,,,
At the denny’s,,,,
While wearing autism™️ sunglasses
Pookie :>
yes yes a hundred times yes
I have no idea if this is a hot take or not but I fucking HATE warm lighting
I hate it in houses but ESPECIALLY in resteraunts. If there's warm lighting in a house, I can politely request that the lights be turned off but you can't do shit about it at a resteraunt.
Warm lighting hurts my eyes and makes my brain go all fuzzy (in a bad way) and makes me feel like I'm spectating my body. FUCK warm lighting. Get rid.
Inform me of your thoughts on this matter, pookiebear
I would say that take is absolutely blistering but honestly I think it’s just cuz your body’s held together with duct tape
Cuz DUDE my buddychumpal I’m pretty sure most people (especially me) are the exact opposite??
Like specifically with the headache brain fuzzy kinda thing, If I spend more than 3 hours in an room with those stupid fuckin white leds I start going feral
I am a WHORE for warm lightbulbs and sunsoaked open windows I’m gonna hafta friend-divorce you over this pookiebear ngl,,,,,
You're probably right about the 'my body being held together with duct tape' thing because I don't like blinding white LEDs either, they remind me of hospitals and grocery stores.
Tbh I think we should return to staying awake while the sun is out and going to bed when it disappears. The sun has never fucked with my head the way artificial lighting has.
I'm gonna live somewhere with bigass windows one day and then I will be truly happy.
I know the anatomy n shit doesn't make sense shhh sh shh
