I'm Lighty, 33, female, she/her. I am an autistic cat-girl. I like memes, cats, and games like Yugioh, Pokemon, Ratchet & Clank, Genshin Impact, and Monster Hunter. I like them because of their playability. I'm not into first-person shooters although I used to enjoy Halo. Some of my favourite genres of music are k-pop, rock, emo, and punk. I also love calming music, especially from game OSTs.
I am from England, UK. I was born in East Yorkshire and went to boarding school there too. I was a little shit growing up, which is fitting because I am still a little shit. I grew up playing Crash Bandicoot, Sonic, Dead or Alive, Tekken, and Soul Calibur. Some of them have reboots coming out now and I am excited.
I am proudly autistic. It has made me who I am. I find that I have an amazing memory and I feel my emotions a lot stronger than Socks says neurotypical people do. Yugioh is my favourite card game, and I can remember what each card is and does from the picture alone. I have been able to play with a deck using Chinese cards without speaking the language.
I am hoping to meet more autistic people, especially from the #actuallyautistic tag. I hear there is a great community there and I want to be part of it. I have a hard time doing some things because of my autism. For example motivating myself to do things can be a battle (such as writing this right now--@sockknitterporg is helping me write this).
Even if I know I need to do it (like taking out the trash) or I really want to do it (like playing a certain game), I find it very hard. Switching activities, even if I want to, is really hard. It feels like I can't stop what I'm doing because I've built up too much inertia.
I am hoping you lovely people will be able to help with this and other issues that I am having. I have learned a lot of things on my own already though, and I am happy to share any of my own methods.
Looking forward to hearing from you
