i really think that this episode has illustrated to me, more than anything, that a lot of people (including me), perhaps very misguidedly, focus so much on the idea of a "happy ending"—or at least a lot on milestones of happiness. like... when i turn thirty, i'm going to be happy—when it's not thirty, it will be forty or fifty. when i move out of this place and get better opportunities, my life will be put together.
i'm so used to living the preliminary life, is the thing. i'm sure others are too. once i get to [x], i will be [y]. if i go travelling in this direction, i will hit that point at this time. it's so simple—and it's such an effective way of putting away the problem, and prolonging it to the point where the hurt will outpour. at some point, you know that you need to make that progressive decision to liberate yourself.
living is one of the most difficult things to do, but isn't it worth it when you hold the door for a child, and they say thank you? when you wake up, and it's saturday? when you feel excited for something, and when you feel at home with somebody? it all adds up. we are not the single coin against 7-something billion, or necessarily always one against the crowd, but are a whole mountain on our own. we all make a monumental impact.
living life—really living life, and accepting it for the journey that it is, is the journey completed—are my current thoughts for the ending. anything more, i will accept with enormous joy. anything less, and this is still my takeaway.
