I’m about to ruin your guys day. Let’s talk about canon and fanon. Dick Grayson edition. I’ve realized that some people don’t actually know what’s canon and what’s fanon. (It’s okay to like what’s fanon more than what’s canon, but I want to clear some things up)

Cooking: Dick can actually cook! Literally everyone says that he can’t cook, but he can! He has cooked for his younger brother (Tim Drake) numerous times! I’m pretty sure he’s cooked with the Titans too.

Singing: Dick is one of the only batfam member’s who can sing. In fact Dick is good at literally everything. (Not EVERYTHING but he can do most things)

Kindness: Don’t get me wrong Dick is a sweetheart but some people make it seem like he’s sweet, in a very dumb way. My point is that he’s nice, but not to the extent people make it out to be.

Brothers: This has to do with Dick and Tim, but I still want to add it. Most people think that Tim’s favorite brother is Jason. This is not the case. Tim is the closest with Dick. After Jason died, whatever Dick didn’t do for Jason, he did for Tim. He even trained Tim.

Ps: Tim even grew up with Dick as Robin.

I responded to this in the notes, but I was flabbergasted enough I actually want to reblog this, too. You can headcanon Dick as a himbo, as anything really (but as a himbo is incredibly strange because he's the opposite of one). However in canon in the DC universe Dick is the embodiment of non-arrogant hyper-competence. He's a friendly soft glove over a hand made of iron. Literally everyone has seen and knows the iron is there.

He's the guy who has every random fact memorized, speaks 12 languages fluently, has seen every form of weird shit there is, has a law degree, is a crack shot with every weapon known to man, and is an incredible natural leader. Batman put him through hell to a level he didn't do with the other Robins, both because he got Dick younger and had him longer, and because he realized 'oh shit I maybe didn't need to go so intense on a child, that was fucked up in retrospect'.

Like, if you name a crazy situation, Dick has done it. Name a hero, Dick has probably not only done a teamup with them, he's led a team with them involved. Dick has been in the game longer than any hero besides Batman and Superman. Like, when the Justice League recently disbanded, Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman went right to Dick to hand the defense of the earth over to him. He was instantly their first choice. People have faith in Dick. He's the fulcrum the DC universe heroes can turn around when Superman is gone, and they have not only said that outright in canon, they've made plans with that in mind.

I think one of my favourite random moments of this is in the issue of New Teen Titans when, still as Robin, the team have to deal with a bunch of ancient giant statues brought to life accidentally by some Dr Light shenanigans.

Dick immediately recognises these things that he's never seen before as all being based on avatars of Vishnu, he knows their names and most of their legends.

You wonder for a moment WHY someone with no evident interest in comparative religion (laudable though that would be) would even be aware of this sort of information, then remember that this kid has been fighting obsessive themed criminals since long before his voice broke, and you never knew when this might prove handy depending on what crime spree Riddler, Calendar Man, Signalman, or god alone knows who else might decide to go for THIS week.

Dick's non-school related homework regimen must have been truly bizarre!

It is illegal in the United States (violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 and the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978, and the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 (Title I and V)) to require a photograph or other image in a job application outside of direct unavoidable relevance (modeling and acting work).

"In the instance an employer makes an illegal request for a photograph as part of a job application, you may submit a complaint to the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission."

Successful violation fee collections are paid partially to the one who suffered the violation, which in many cases exceeds a year of work at these shit jobs. There's only two weak points to a corporation, and those are in the budget and in the supply chain. Hit them where it hurts.
