I have a little time before work so I decided why not share a small WIP of a story I made and kinda forgot about
Chapter 1: Aopz ovbzl dhz uva thkl mvy fvb.
Hours of sawing, gluing, screwing and painting led up to this very moment. Petunia uncovered Giggles’ eyes to present her with the fruits of their labor. A beautiful pink living room decorated with pink and lavender. It was put together in a way to show how much her friends cared about her. Almost every part of the room was put together with love and care. It warmed Giggles’ heart in a special way. The moment they saw her smile, the other tree friends cheered, knowing that their mission was successful. Handy, the brains behind it all, seemed the proudest. Not just of their contributions, but his ability to put all this together with his limited abilities. Given that…no hands and all. He too was so happy that he didn’t notice Cuddles’ sudden absence either.
This house truly was a home.
The other tree friends beckoned Giggles towards the hallway entrance, eager to show off more of the house’s interior, with Handy not too far behind. However, he abruptly stopped when he felt something peck at his hard hat. The little bird from the cage in the corner had managed to slip out, now keen on tormenting Handy. Groaning, the beaver waved his nubs to try and shoo the bird back to its cage. But despite his best efforts, his stumps could only reach so far. It wasn’t until he bent over and let his hat fall to the ground that the bird finally flew back to its cage, squawking at him as if to say “screw you” before shutting its cage with a huff. The beaver hummed in triumph. Thankfully putting his hat back on wasn’t as much of a struggle as shooing the bird away. Now he just had to reconvene with the group-
Handy stumbled backwards dizzily, shaking his head to come back to his senses. This was supposed to be the hallway the others took. But once Handy finally got a look at what hit him, all he could muster up was a “what the?” in Tree Town language. Where the entrance to the hallway once stood was now just a blank wall, like it was never there to begin with. That was weird, Handy thought, there’s supposed to be a hallway here. Handy chalked it up to confusion from hitting the wall and shrugged, turning to the other hallway entrance on the other side of the room. That entrance too, somehow, had vanished. The only other entrance left was the front door that led outside.
“I can’t be going crazy…” Handy thought, “I saw those hallways a minute ago…Is it something in the air?”
Handy glanced over at the ventilation grate in the top right corner of the room. Perhaps there was something wrong with the house’s air? It couldn’t have been carbon monoxide cause he had detectors installed. Perhaps it was best to check the ventilation system to determine what was going on. Thus, Handy made his way to the front door and, through a bit of struggle, pried it open with his nubs. The sight before him confused him more than he already was. The door had a heart-shaped window on top that clearly displayed the yellow skies outside. So…how in the world did he end up in the dining room?!
