“I wouldn’t hunt a wolf. I’d be scared they’re a human just turned into a wolf.”

“But not everyone thinks that way. And some just... Don’t care.”

“Really? Why? I thought wolves were really strong.”

“They are. And that’s why people fear them. Sometimes they’re hunted. You have to go somewhere away from the regular humans in such a case.”

“Wow! I know a person who turns into a wolf. She is a nice lady.”

“Being a wolf is great, but sometimes it can put you in danger. That’s why I prefer this form.”

“I think so. I can change how old I am and Miss Kaylie can change the weather.”

“It’s not super crazy. Just seems odd. But then again, I can morph into an animal...”

“Mhm. His doll turns into a person and has a job. He’s nice. Oh…I like the Joker but I think he’s also kind of scary.”

“Is that even possible?” Sofia laughed. “The Joker is crazy.”

“I’m fine.” She replied and lit a cigarette. “Just enjoying my day off.”

Sofia’s nose scrunched up at the cigarette, but didn’t make it obvious that she disapproved. It wasn’t her business what others did. “That sounds nice.” She smiled. “What do you do?”

“Any place but here is fine.”

 “Anywhere at all? Even if it’s just a cold hole in the ground?”

“But some people… they’re… they’re celestial, otherworldly beings. They’re not just humans. They deserve a lot better.”

“Some of them do. But what if we don’t go anywhere when we die?”

“My toys. And my brother. And my bed.” He told her as he continued walking.

“That sounds quite fun to me.” Sofia closed her eyes, stilling in the boys arms as he carried her.

“I think one of Big Brother’s friends goes to one of those. His doll is a therapist. Maybe you can ask him for help sometimes. If you be a doctor, are you going to fall in love with Joker?”

“His doll?” She asked. “I don’t think that I would want to fall in love with the joker.”

“Where do you work, Miss Cat? Do you have a job that you can do as a cat? I think I want to be Batman when I grow up.”

“Right now I don’t do much. Just a part-time job in a clothing store. But I want to be a therapist.” Sofia loved working with people, and wanted to make sure that they could live happy lives; ones that weren’t like her own had been. “Being Batman is a great goal in life.”

“Maybe humans are just… stars, or aliens. Our lives are just us visiting the planet for a while. Do you think we go back to space when we die?”

“I am pretty sure that humans are just that. Humans. I don’t know where we go when we die, but I hope that it is a wonderful place.”

“What can you do as a people? I guess you can have chocolate. Is it just dogs that can’t have that?”

“No. Cats can’t eat chocolate either. But that isn’t it. I have responsibilities that cats can’t go do. Like go to the bank, or work.”

“Pretty kitty.” He whispered, kissing the top of her head. “You’re coming home with me now.”

“What is at your house?” she asked softly, curling in his arms.

Riannon groaned and sat up, turning back into her human form. “What?” She asked to woman, clearly annoyed at being disturbed.

Sofia smiled softly, seeing that the woman possessed a similar, or maybe even the same ability as she did. “Oh. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to disturb you.” Her brows furrowed, aware of the woman’s annoyance. “Is everything okay?” she questioned in concern.
