Happier than ever
// in my mind, Kurt and Rosalind are both dead in this shot.
They are more tragic than what we were made to understand, and probably their lore would have had more to offer if it was expounded. I would like to think that the story told in the game was just a façade to the truth — even Kurt dropped a hint about the cons of searching for it.
Like how So Mi would describe how she "died" when she was taken in by the FIA, Rosalind died when she was sworn in, and every person who got involved followed suit. If we use Myers’ uniform as a metaphor, it becomes a fitting symbolism of death — remarkably elegant but seemingly suffocating that even Rosalind opted to crawl out of it when she had the chance.
Now, to explain Kurt’s part in this, he admitted the fact that they worked hand-in-hand behind the scenes. With that, I would really like to think that these two shared a special relationship beyond just business given how often Hansen awkwardly dropped his bitterness in riddles to V. Just like Reed, Hansen couldn't simply refuse Myers even though death was inevitable, and maybe acted on instinct to explain why he kept his tabs open to her.
So, what’s the uniform got to do with him? Remember — as told by Song — no one in the institution gets to decide for themselves. It's only natural to assume that THAT includes Rosalind down to the lowest ranks. One instance is when Jago took over arranging Kurt’s wake. Albeit Hansen's wish to be cremated, Jago decided it would be best to put him on display — and this very uniform was put on Hansen. These two were made to wear the suits the moment they stopped living thus Hansen finally joining Myers in death.
p.s Don't take me seriously. I am insane for doing this tbh 😂 all of this was born out of my curiosity as to why the colors — blue and ivory with a bit of gold accent — of their uniforms uncannily match one another
