Bun walked back to his room after the meal with everyone.
Even though the past few days were… a lot, and he was still processing some things in the back of his mind, he was glad that everything seemed pretty ok in the end.
Not perfect. Not great. Just ok. And maybe that was fine?
Sure, he’d never see the real world again, but at least he wasn’t truly trapped here, in a sense.
The real him was still out there, living his life, being ok.
Same went for the others as well. Including everyone who had previously abstracted. Including Kaufmo and Ribbit.
But by now, he was definitely his own person, on a separate path from his self outside of the circus.
He was Jax. He was Bun. And to others, he was Bunny as well.
He shut his door before leaning against it, glancing around the room before taking a key out of his pocket and looking it over.
He wasn’t sure how Rabbit, Lily, or any of the others he had met were doing. But he hoped they were doing ok too. He really should try to see them again. Try to catch up.
Especially after everything.
He walked over to his bedside table and gently put Rabbit’s key inside for safe keeping. It seemed safe to do that now.
He sat down on his bed and took a much needed deep breath before looking over at Biscuit, who had rubbed against his arm.
He gently picked them up before holding them in his lap, glad that they were ok too.
“It’s been a bit since I’ve pet you, huh? Sorry, I was busy with the others. Having food and talking and stuff.”
He gently ran his gloved fingers through their fur, listening to them purr. It was a nice thing to listen to. A calm thing to listen to.
He really needed a moment of calm right now.
“Yeah, love you too, Biscuit…”
