i learned a while ago that the whole "most of the stars we see in the sky are actually already dead because they're so far away that we're seeing them as they were thousands of years ago" thing is a myth because stars live so long that it's unlikely many, if any, of them have burned out yet, but i'm still glad that myth exists because there's just something about the thought of the sky as a graveyard of stars that gets to me

Y'all gotta learn the difference between "TERF rhetoric" and shit that is just... literal actual feminism. TERFs are feminists, so they're gonna occasionally say shit that is actually feminist. They're just gonna throw transphobia on top of it.

Wanting women to be able to exist with leg hair and no makeup isn't TERF rhetoric, that's feminism.

Wanting women to be able to "exist naturally" isn't TERF rhetoric until you begin defining "natural" as "female". Then it's TERF rhetoric.

They are. We cannot deny this. Radical feminism is a real part of feminist history and current feminist theory, and TERFs are part of radical feminism.

I know it's seductive to say they're not "real feminists", because then you can pretend feminist theory has never been problematic and never had bad actors, but the truth is that they are indeed feminists, and have caused damage in the name of feminism.

Plenty of the things TERFs say sounds good and cool and feminist- because it is! But then they *keep going* with some transphobic/bioessentialist garbage.

But it's too easy to hear the first half and think "oh well thats good" and so you don't really hear the second half. It's how they go stealthy and try to radicalize other people- and you NEED to be able to acknowledge that sometimes they are saying normal feminist things so that you can recognize when they use that as a ladder to the garbage.
