Its always weird, feeling a hyperfixation take root.

Like I’ll be watching some movie and all of a sudden, some miswired synapse fires off and a bunch of neurons in the cerebellum go “MINE.”

And I’m like “no, guys, this is mediocre at best,” but it’s too late. They’ve adopted these characters and this universe and there’s no turning back.

I’m going to be thinking about it every hour, of every day, for somewhere between two weeks and five years.

In the span of eight seconds, I’ve gone from “not really paying attention” to “this is going to be part of my identity” and that’s definitely a weird shift to experience.

Other times, and those are rare, canon gives us something nearly perfect. Something we want more of, but we want more canon, and going to fandom feels impossible. And when you try, you always end up disappointed, because canon gave you everything you need.

Re-entry is all that for me. Any time I try to read anything else in that fandom, I’m disappointed because it’s not your Obi-Wan. It’s not your interpretation of this world that feels so real, and so perfect.

yo, hey friends, I am now solar_cat over on the PH community, hmu if you wanna be friends over there! I have to say, looking at the account settings and such so far, it seems like they actually have pretty good privacy options and so on. Gotta get some friends before I can see how the personal feed works and so on, but… not bad, so far! (and I guess it keeps me from browsing it at work, lol!)

OKAY SO. Thus far I have discovered that PH Community’s feed has a 20,000 character limit for text posts, and a slightly limited emoji library (not terribly important, but good to know). However, it WILL let you post text (and has basic text editing functions built in so you don’t have to write your own HTML), pics, gifs, and video. There’s a “Community Feed” that seems to be the default view, which is, predictably, entirely porn. However, the “My Feed” section gives you only the users/communities you subscribe to, and will actually even let you filter that further (which I would try if I didn’t only have 1 subscription currently; as is I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference).

i find myself wishing i was an erotica writer, not just an adventure writer who doesn’t censor the sex scenes much. i don’t think pornhub would be a good place for me to promo books that have maybe 2 pages of not-very-explicit sex in a 200 page book. but it looks so… so cozy over there…
