Pete was in love with Vegas from the very beginning, literally in the ep2 (?) they show us how Pete gets embarrassed when he sees Vegas from afar, and obviously fantasizes about a possible relationship with him. When you already love a person, it's much easier to see something good in them, because you want to see the best in them even when they beat you, put you in chains, and feed you slop. At first, I was angry at Pete for this sympathy for Vegas, and then I became Pete myself... Vegas' Arc is one of the strongest, in my opinion. This is a man who is simply torn by hatred, and this hatred is born out of a thirst for love. In fact, Vegas acts like a traumatized child. Father does not love him and takes out his evil on him, so the child is looking for someone weaker to have full control over this creature and take out his evil. But in fact, he does this because no one has ever told him that he can be good and that he deserves to be loved just for what he is. And that's all Vegas has ever wanted, and the only one who gave him that unconditional devoted love is Pete.
I love this kind of absolute affection in movies/TV series - it's the desperate need of two people for each other, they don't need anything else, they don't have anything. It's a relationship smeared with blood and dirt, but it's the ultimate bond that forgives any mistake.
I struggled with myself for a long time while watching, but in the end I fell in love with this couple almost more than Kinn and Porsche. After all, if Pete could forgive Vegas, then it was his personal responsibility. These two really can't live without each other.
the problem with lestat is that not enough people talk to him like this when they should
this is what i've been saying
Can we talk about this moment in ep4? This is not just a joke about Lestat's narcissism. This scene is actually much deeper because... it's not Lestat talking. This version of Lestat exists only in Louis' head, it's a projection of him, so in fact what Dreamstat is saying here is Louis' own thoughts. Throughout the S2, we watch Louis walking around Paris, looking at streets and historical sites, etc. Why? Because Louis knows that this city is connected to Lestat, and in the process he takes photos because he dreams of seeing Lestat in this way. This is also confirmed by Armand's picture, because Louis obviously wasn't photographing Armand.
Armand gets into the frame in this photo, his image is blurred and is somewhere in the corner, because he should not have been in this picture. Louis tried to capture the image of Lestat, to get some kind of material confirmation of his presence, because he missed him terribly. Maybe Louis was only interested in photography because of Lestat.
And if you put all these thoughts together, then, yes, the main disadvantage of any photo for Louis is that there is no Lestat in them.
