over the years, sloane had become excellent at sneaking around without being caught. whatever the reason was, the brunette knew how to make a swift and quiet exist…or entrance. her classes were finally over for the day, which meant it was time to do some sleuthing. she had spotted her target, sitting alone in the library. sloane had quickly stolen a seat across from them. “do you know why i’m here, or do i have to tell you ? “

    ━━━━━━    clementine  had  been  completely  minding  her  own  business , just  sketching  one  of  her  favourite  characters ,  when  someone  had  sat  down  in front  of  her.  it  took  her  a  few  seconds  to  realize  -- - she’d  had  earphones  in  and  was  completely  in  the  zone. “ uhh --- ”  she  hummed  while  taking  out  her  earphones.  “ it’d be greatly appreciated if y’could tell me .. cause i really don’t know. ”  an  awkward  smile  on  her  lips  :  she  hoped  it  wasn’t  anything  serious .

he studies her expression. now, murray is no psychologist, but he can tell when someone’s flustered. at least, to some degree. it’s a good thing he thinks it’s kinda adorable. “i mean, if that’s somethin’ you’d be interested in..” he trails off, maybe a tad too flirty for a second, but is quick to laugh it off. “nah, ‘s cool.” it’s just in, everybody! murray abramowitz has officially decided to skip class, whoa! who would’ve thought? “no stress. i'll  stick ‘round ‘til you’re sick of me.” 

    ━━━━━━    eyes  widen  &  her  heart  begins  to  pick  up. “ i- -- no ! ”  her  cheeks  grow  even  redder . . . . as  if  that’s  even  possible.  part  of  the  girl  wishes  she  wasn’t  too  shy  to  not  flirt  back  ;  this  would’ve  been  the  perfect  moment.  but  by  the  time  she  gains  the  confidence  to  say  something  moderately  flirty  back , the  moment’s  passed. “ guess you’ll be ‘round for a while ‘cause i don’t get sick of people easily. ”  mentions  clementine. “ do you . . . want to go somewhere else for me to do it ? or -- are y’good here? or-- ? ”

    ━━━━━━  clementine  let  out  a  giggle  at  the  other’s  response.  truth be told , she wasn’t  expecting  the  other  to be  so .  .  .  willing  to  let  clem  draw  her.  “ you’re better than kate moss, ”  she  assumed ( & hoped )  kate  moss  was  some  model  because  she  actually  didn’t  know  who  in  the  heck  that  was. “ where do you feel like posin’ ? ”

                 a hand touched the left side of her chest as she mocked a relieved sigh. “ that makes me feel ten percent better, but I will only be satisfied when I’m your only muse. i mean, look at me, ” marissa extended both of her arms, doing a little twirl, “ i was born to be someone’s muse, ” a delighted chuckle escaped marissa’s lips masking the previous statement as a joke, though the blonde believed on it completely. “ well, if you find the inspiration to draw me on my silk pajamas with a bowl of popcorn, i don’t see why not, ” she joked with an elated smile at her roommate; lately, Marissa had been on a bad funk, but somehow clem’s presence was a rush of bliss for her— unable to stop smiling and joking around.

   ━━━━━━  clementine  couldn’t  help  but  smile  sincerely  as  she  watched  her  roommate  do  a  twirl.  she  was  beautiful  ;  marissa  could  be  a  model , she  thought. “ i could find inspiration in just ‘bout anythin’, ” she  explained. “ and you ? well -- it’s easy to be inspired by you. ”  which  was  the  truth.  the  two  girls  were  so . . . . different.  plus  ,  marissa  is  a  pretty  girl. &  clementine  was  inspired  by  pretty  things. “ hey , uh .. this is completely off topic but .. how have you been lately? ”

     the gentle tap upon his shoulder almost brought a small groan from his lips, was it really all that hard to ask someone else the question that was most likely to follow ? but as his head angled over his shoulder and eyes caught the familiar blonde, any thought of complaining left his mind. slowly, he turned, his hands slipping into the pockets of his jacket, “ you wanna draw me ? you the jack in this situation, huh ? never thought i’d be signing myself up to be rose — ” his words came to a slow pause as a smile pulled across his lips before his shoulders shrugged slightly, “ but guess there’s a first time for everything. ” 

    ━━━━━━ clementine  head  bows  &  a  small  laugh  comes  from  her .  she  looks  up ,  cheeks  flushed  pink as  she  realizes  rose  was  in  the  nude  during  that  drawing . “ you would look real pretty in any of the gowns she wore in the movie, ” clementine  said  jokingly. “ but i won’t make you go that far for this drawing, ” the  blonde  took  a  second  to  clear  her  throat -- - she  couldn’t  help  but  feel  excited  to  draw  him. “ thank you , teddy. ”  she  smiled. “ is there any place you’d like to go for the drawing? ”

“Hey, farm girl.” Jeremy called out to Clementine. “You look tense. Not digging this party?” Sometimes, he did not know why he took her to parties. Maybe it was because she stated she wanted to experience new things and make new friends. And the only way Jeremy ever knew how to make friends was through parties. He pointed towards a group of people across from them taking hits from a bong. “Maybe that will help you loosen up, relax a little.” He turned to her and gave her a quick smirk. “Wanna try it?”

    ---- the  music  was  far  too  loud  &  it  wasn’t  even  that  good.  who  in  the hell  listens  to  this . . . junk ?  her  face  looks  up  slightly  so  she  can  look  at  jeremy.  she  bites  her  lip  gently  &  shakes  her  head  at  his  question.  clementine  turns  her  head  and  her  heart  drops  immediately when  she  realizes  what  they’re  doing. “ i, uh -- ” if  mama  knew  her  good  willed  daughter  was  here,  surely  she’d  be  far  from  pleased.  she  turned  back  to her  friend. “ i don’t know, jeremy . . . ”

truth be told, he’d probably be less surprised if it turned out to be a joke. but no, it’s for real, and murray just can’t help but wonder why in the world anyone would ever want to take the time to draw him. out of all people, the kid who looks like he’s been deceased for well over four years. but he chooses not to question it, decides he doesn’t need an explanation. “i guess so? ‘s long as i don’t have to fuckin’ strip for ya’, or somethin’.” he jokes, but the tone is almost too casual. “ ‘s it gonna take long, ya’ think?” he’s got a class in about an hour, but it’s not like he’s too thrilled about the thought of showing up. 

    ----- cheeks  turn  bright  red  at  the  sound ( & thought )  of  him  stripping .  the  blonde  clears  her  throat ; a  nervous  smile  on  her  lips . “ no-- no, nothin’ like that. ”  she  shakes  her head  slowly. “ it shouldn’t .. unless you want to stay longer. ”  shrug. “ i can just do a quick ‘lil sketch if you’ve got somewhere to be? ”

jill was just staring down at his textbook in a rather half-assed attempt to make sense of whatever the hell it was trying to say. he had never been a good student and he could already tell that he was going to stuggle this semester. a sigh escaped him before his attention shifted from the tiny text to a girl. brown eyes brightened at the sudden request. jill was an art kid, he knew all about the struggles of finding a physical muse. “oh shit!” a laugh escaped him as if something funny had just happened. It hadn’t. he was just grateful for the distraction. “yeah! ive never posed for anyone before. here?” 

    ----- clementine  glowed  with  excitement  as  the  other  agreed. “ thank ya so much. it’s been a real hassle tryin’ to find someone to help. ”  she  explains  while  quickly  eyeing  around  the  area  for  a  nice  place  for  the  other  to  pose.  she  hums.  “ how about . . . well -- how about just here ? you don’t have to move. ” clementine  walked  around  the  table  &  sat  in  front  of  him  before  meeting  his  gaze  and  smiling .

     “i don’t think asking to draw people is a job.” she says simply, but in truth she doesn’t have any experience in the job market.”however, if you’d be willing to pay me, i’m sure i could spare a few minutes to stand still.”

    ---- a  sour  feeling  washes  over  the  blonde  &  you  could  tell  it  by  the  look  on  her  face. eyebrows  furrow  &  a  small  laugh  escapes  her  . “ uhh --- i’m not payin’ you to just stand there , you’ve got to be jokin’. ” arms  cross. “ i didn’t realize helping someone was such a damn hassle. ”  her  eyes  roll ( though she doesn’t mean for them to ) ---- - how could someone be so .... unwilling to help others, clementine thinks to herself.

     FAR  FROM  APPROACHABLE ,     initial  reaction  is  a  side  eye  as  she’s  tapped  on  the  shoulder  (  easing  following  an  explanation ,  naturally  )  —-  sparing  this  soul  a  stuttering  moment  of  her  valuable  time ,  not  only  because  she’s  an  inkling  of  curiosity ,  but  because  bjork  understood  the  artist  front  :   doesn’t  keep  her  from  SIGHING  as  if  getting  drawn  was  a  chore .      ❝   sure  thing .  ❞     hands  perch  atop  wheels ,  prepared  to  move  wherever .     ❝  where  d’ya  want  me ?  ❞

    ----- her  nerves  only  worsen  at  the  look  she  gets  ( & then the sigh that follows her question ) . a  wide  smile  grows  to  her  lips  when  the  ginger  accepts ;  partially  because  she  wasn’t  expecting  for  her  to  say  yes  --- - “ how ‘bout just under a tree or somethin’? ” clementine  figured  the  shade  would  be  nice . “ or .. maybe at that picnic table over there ? ”

murray turns around, only to see a much smaller figure before him. “uh, hey?” brows are furrowed, he’s not sure what to expect. but then she asks him this, yes, typically rather unusual question, and for a second he doesn’t really know what to make out of it. “draw me? what, you mean, right now?” he studies her expression. then, a slow look around. is anyone giggling in a corner, watching as this seemingly nervous girl approaches him? is this a prank of some sort? a set-up? “uh,” a small smirk. eyes rest on her yet again. “alright, little lady. did somebody tell ya’ to do this?” 

    ----- long eyelashes flutter & a grin appears on her lips ; she’s trying to make him think it’s a prank. but . . . in no way is it really. she wrinkles her nose before letting out a laugh. “ no -- promise. ” clementine lifted her pinky finger. “ i really just need some help with practicing. ” she has her notebook & pencil in her hands. clem tilts her head slightly. “ weeeelll ? will ya? ”

                   “ standing still is not my forte, clem. the only time i am moveless is when i’m sleeping. maybe you can draw me then, “ marissa joked lightheartedly, a quick suck on the already glistening lollipop before pointing at the other with the candy. ” i am quite offended that you can’t draw me by memory, though. i should be your muse of some sorts. “

    ----- clementine rolled her eyes playfully & let out a small laugh. “ i probably could draw you from memory if i’m bein’ honest. ” -- how could she not be able to ? it was the face she’d gone home to every ( well... most ) nights. “ it’d just be . . . real creepy to draw you in your sleep. ” she cringed her teeth together. “ how ‘bout when you’re watching t.v or somethin’? ” . . . that was only a half-joke because she really needed this practice.

    ----- “ i, uh... do have a job. ” . . . . . . an artist. the blonde let out a small & very uncomfortable laugh , trying her best to avoid eye contact. almost immediately , she regretted asking. clementine rubbed her forearm. “ you don’ have to stand still for too long, ” she tried to assure the other. “ i can give you breaks -- - but i mean, you don’t have to do or anythin’. i just need practice .”
