her heels clicked loudly on the hardwood floor as she made her way from the back out to the front bar area of the lusty widow. her latest client had pissed her off, so she was calling in a break. she just needed a moment and a drink to cool her off. she let out a sigh as she plopped down into the bar stool, nodding her head to the familiar bartender, silently requesting her usual drink. it wasn’t much – just a jack and coke – so it was in her hand in just a few moments. as she was taking her first sip, she watched as her disgruntled customer exited the back area and she quickly gave him the finger as he shuffled out. why did people seriously think they could come in and negotiate ? her prices were what they were for a reason and it wasn’t changing for some sleazy dude.

although miranda was not much of a heavier drinker given that she always hated the hangover that came roaring in the following moment, coming and going on occasion at the lusty window was just a natural part of the small social scene in tombstone. sipping at an iced tea and vodka kept her feeling a little more hydrated from the summer heat that was absolutely overbearing even if the short span of a few seconds spent outside walking to and from. she glanced to her side with another woman set by her, one of the newcomers in town. it was easy to tell given they were probably within a few years of each other and she was sure that they hadn’t gone to school together. she was maybe a little younger and quite pretty.
“no, you don’t. there are few places ‘round here that i’d be desperate enough to bargain with and this definitely isn’t one of them.” she commented with a shake of her head, taking a small sip of her drink. “but it really seems like some men don’t know common sense till it knocks them upside the head.”
