Even the careless and easygoing Sogetsu was startled from the sudden shift between happiness and rage. He didn't really mean to make the flash beam into her pupils, but the timing couldn't have really been helped at all. It was just bad placement for the both of him. Now, he had to deal with her on her worst once again. This was nothing new to him, but he did mean to make this whole day something to make her smile on. Technically he did, but it doesn't quite count well when it all flipped over into this.
Watching her yell at him, raising the camera high into the air, Sogetsu could only watch, too tensed to say anything back or even stop her. He didn't want this. He didn't want to see her break the camera, not with all the memories of this moment stored inside. Things like that probably wouldn't come so easily, in the future, especially not after all of this. He figured she would keep the grudge against him for eterity, and no barren wasteland out there would be enough to tell her he was sorry. That was the feeling he was getting from all of this. Why was it so drastic to him this time, as opposed to any other time she had a fit? Could be due to this being the first time he was ever the cause of her anger.
His eyes widened as he watched, frozen with a hint of fear. He continued to stare, watching her begin to throw the camera on the ground. Well...throwing would be an understatement. She was ready to slam it on the ground, literally wanting it to shatter into pieces, making the already-delicate item defective. It ctually reached the point where he felt the need to cover his eyes, not exactly wanting to witness this horrific moment. A few seconds later...he was wondering when the crash would sound his eardrums. That was what he was waiting for all this time. Opening his eyes, he tilted his head at her and what appeared to be her mood calming down. He wasn't sure what caused this, but at least he didn't have to worry about his camera breaking anytime soon.
"Nee, maybe you should sit down for now."
With an exasperated sigh, he moved aside on the cloth he was sitting on, patting the empty space next to him for her to sit. All this tension was a bit unnerving for him, which kinda felt ironic. One would think that how he was with her at this point, he would be the type of guy to just poke her forehead while saying some witty comment to ease the mood. Then again, even if it did make things better, a slap or a punch somewhere in-between would have most likely been unavoidable thing. However, this time just felt different, as if he just wasn't the same annoying Sogetsu she knew and despised.
"Personally, I think it's good to keep the memories with others stored somewhere, y'know? You never know when they might just vanish from your life, so you need something to hold onto on their behalf, right? Though...if photos bother you so much, I suppose I could stop there."
Another long sigh escaped his lips, his vision trailing off the redette and towards the stream, watching it flow endlessly. Sometimes, it would carry off a tin can or some kind of wet paper, but nonetheless, it continued to rush the waters from one point to the next. From there, he swiveled his view to the breeze in the air, carrying several leaves around in a random pattern. For the entire moment, he just looked dull, bored, wanting something interesting to come about. In reality, he was merely contemplating everything around him.
"Hmm...never thought you would ever be the one to witness it all," he said to her vaguely, his attention still set on nature and all of its works. "Since we're alone, I suppose it's not all bad, I guess."
