Young Newtown resident Grace Matwijec making her mark on Broadway

Grace, a homeschooled seventh-grader who turns 13 on June 14, doesn’t sound like the typical preteen on the phone. She’s articulate, polite and thorough in her responses, without a hint of braggadocio.“I think it’s because it’s not all about the show,” says George, who joins his wife and daughter in New York when he can. “The show is a part of her life, but it’s important to have fun and do other things in life. The show’s going to end (Grace’s last day in the cast is Feb. 28), and she’ll need to go back to her ordinary life.

Welcome Savannah Grace Elmer! Savannah recently turned 10 on November 3rd and is from Florida. I believe Matilda is her professional stage debut. 

Fun fact she is the second Matilda from Florida with Milly being the first.
