Nazrul's poem 'Rebel' has been recited for hundreds of years
The poem 'Rebel' commemorates the awakening of the Bengali nation. National poet Kazi Nazrul Islam wrote the poem in the last week of December 1921. The poet was then twenty-two years old. He wrote this poem at night in his house at 3/4-C Taltola Lane, Kolkata. This classical poem is one hundred years old. And the rebellious poem of the national poet was uttered in hundreds of voices at the Nazrul Mancha of Battala of Bangla Academy.
Poet Muhammad Nurul Huda, Director General of Bangla Academy inaugurated the special program on Friday morning and the program was concluded by Khilkhil Kazi, grandson of national poet. Hundreds of students from different universities of the capital took part in reciting the rebellious poem. Those who are very young, inspired by the persecution of rebellion, all of them are in their twenties. With the poet's time in mind, the voluntary organization 'Swapner Bangladesh' planned the event.
Bangla Academy, Shilpakala Academy, Biswasahitya Kendra, Sanskriti Bikash Kendra, Ethical Theater and Prism took part in the program. Dhaka University Cultural Parliament, Jahangir University Cultural Organization Dhwani, Stamford University Literary Forum, BRAC University Cultural Club, Daffodil International University Cultural Club, University of Asia Pacific University, University of Asia Pacific Literary Professionals, Sahajpath High School, Kisan Theater, Kanthashilan, Aviyatrik School and Shilpa Bangla.

Abdul Razak of Tanzania won the Nobel Prize in Literature
Abdul Razak Gurnah of Tanzania won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2021. On Thursday, the Swedish Academy brightened his name as a Nobel laureate.
