Classic French Eclairs w/ Makeover
the humble 19th-century éclair has surpassed the macaron as the most buzzed about Parisian bonbon of the moment, in no small part thanks to a redesign.
Yes to all of this!

Getting Away
So I just returned from a trip overseas. I say this not to highlight how much I'm #YOLOing or to stoke anyone's FOMO, but as a segway to get to my actual point. This is clearly my first post in ages, and its not that I really haven't had any thing to share with however few of you are listening. I've actually gotten really excited about a lot of projects, plans, and experiences. I have actively documented the steps for DIY projects, cocktail recipes, festival campsite packing lists that I over zealously undertook. I have no real excuse for not putting all of this out there. I belong to the mass of iPhone owners with all the requsite over sharing apps that make it easier to post something than to actually do it. Somehow, I went on in the analog world, completely forgetting my attempt to keep a digital diary. All the evidence of these activities (proof I suppose that I was being an active participant in life) rested, confined to my phone, not even so much as being lifted up into the cloud. Someday, I kept reminding myself, i would post some of these things, if only for posterity and my own reflecting. As anyone could tell from my posting history, that hasn't happened. Now back to that trip I mentioned earlier. It was a beautiful, exciting family vacation, captured in video snippets and pictures on that nearly full phone of mine. I figured this could be as good a place as any to jump start my posting habits, maybe even start a throwback Thursday series of post about things that I've already done/seen/tasted/heard. Even if it wasn't in chronological order it would still be an effective journal. Unfortunately for me and my recently wounded bank account, as I was boarding the train away from JFK my suitcase wheel got caught on the platform and tipped over, with my bag spilling its contents. The only thing of mine that slid away from my reach was my phone, and it slipped perfectly in between the platform and the train. So much for my new posting idea. While the opportunity to post figuratively got away from me all summer, I literally watched it get away from me yesterday. As I thought more about it on the long ride home my frustration ebbed away. I still retain all those memories and I can still record and share them. It didn't change the fact that I was present, the photos are not responsible for the friendships and misadventures, and great times. I'll continue to reflect on the experiences, washing them in a warmer filter than anything Instagram has, and if I choose to share them I guess you'll just have to use your imagination too.
