i need people to get so serious about the fact that exorsexism has always been the biggest red flag for reactionary bullshit in the trans community. exorsexism is how the trans bar becomes the transmed bar becomes the log cabin republican bar if you catch my drift. exorsexism is literally always at the scene of the crime and NO ONE ever fucking talks about it and then you have major voices like Jules Gill-Peterson & so many others who insist on this narrative that nonbinary & genderqueer people are this bourgeois secret society sneering down at the poor binary trans people and calling them boring and regressive and throwing tomatoes at their HRT (which we never take).
sorry saw red a little bit there. my point is that nonbinary & genderqueer people are not and have never been peripheral to the trans community or trans activism & i need everyone to start taking misandrogyny and exorsexism so deathly serious or we are fucked.

Asked my girlfriend if she’d rather explore the ocean or space and we ended up having this really long philosophical, psychoanalytical conversation. I chose space because I tend to run, and she chose the ocean because she tends to be quite the introspective person. Then something about zooming in and out on life and why things matter if we’re just a little rock in space. She cried about it a little and I was able to talk things down, only for me to reveal to her I just wanted to know if she’d be Simon like I thought she would…
That made her feel a lot better about the whole thing.

Fan art for @birdbyrne's Aperture! I really enjoy this fic, putting Grace in the Iron Lung universe right after planet Adrian is so delightfully evil. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoy bloodymary but haven''t read it.
I really tried my best to make this as scene accurate as possible, I hope I was able to achieve that. I based the design off their art here and here, while putting in my own spin ofc.

Simon who is used to the quiet of the submarine. Who's spent weeks alone with just his thoughts and the sounds of the submarine and blood ocean to cut through the silence
Vs the Hail Mary, which is loud. The computer that translates what Rocky says is connected to all the speakers in the ship so Grace can hear what Rocky has to say no matter where he is on the ship "because human hearing bad bad bad statement". And Ryland "middle school teacher" Grace is so used to projecting his voice to a big classroom of rowdy kids that "essentially shouting" is his base setting, and living with an Eridian who can hear a pin drop on the other side of the ship never helped him key into this fact
Now imagine Simon, new to the ship and having the absolute worst time trying to sleep or have alone time with just himself and his thoughts
Because it's never. quiet.

They at least have the decency to turn the volume down for the movie, but Simon can hear every piece of commentary they make
