Went down the bloodymary rabbit hole last night bc my grandmas dog kept me up and this is the result.

I based his carapace on cinnabar bc not only is it bright red and very pretty, it’s the main source of liquid mercury aka Eridian blood, and has been associated with immortality in ancient China. It just felt so perfect hehe.

i still think its kinda crazy that rocky was alone for so long after watching his entire crew die without knowing what was causing it. i mean theres gotta be some SERIOUS psychological consequences that come with watching people die and then having to be isolated for long with no one to watch him sleep. im tempted to write something that would explore the trauma that rocky would likely have due to these events and how that would affect the way he interacts with grace. its not like grace would know since rocky is his example for How Eridians Are and he has nothing to compare it to but to any other eridian it would be obvious that rocky Is Not Doing Well. that also brings up the question about how trauma would manifest for rocky and how that would work in eridian culture.
