Haven't even heard of them
the "It ain't much but it's honest work" farmer passed away :(
Here's an article from last year about his life and work and his reaction to being a meme:
Ain't Much - For Farmer Dave Brandt, Being a Meme is Honest Work
His crops aren’t particularly unique (mostly corn, soybeans, and wheat) but his novel cover cropping tactics make his practice unconventional. In the mid-’90s, his farm started using several mixes of cover crops whose roots could break up the soil better than tilling while regenerating the chemicals, such as nitrogen, that are paramount to healthy soil. It was a breakthrough: less input was getting him more output, and his soil was as rich and wormy as ever. In his three-and-a-half decades of farming, he’s drastically decreased his use of fertilizers, fungicide, herbicide, and insecticide, and his land blooms in the offseason with all sorts of vegetation — sunflowers, radishes, various grasses, and more.
[...]
The Brandt family operates Walnut Creek Seeds to provide education and materials to other farmers (including backyard gardeners) on cover cropping, and aims to prescribe farmers the best cover crops for their land. He hopes, if anything, that his digital stardom gets more people interested in regenerative farming. “Dupont and Bayer don't care about you or your soil or our wildlife,” he says.
Hello writeblr!
I’m Jupiter, and I’m a hobby writer! I previously operated under the blog @solarflare-ink.
Fantasy is my main genre, and my WIPs tend to oscillate between high and urban fantasy. I currently have 4 main characters but no WIPs to house them, but I’ll introduce them:
Nike: a half-angel, half-other, who works odd jobs of the magical, and often violent kind for her boss. On one of these jobs, she accidentally recovers a relic of the past—three of the seven deadly sins, thought to be lost in the war between angels and gods a millenium ago.
Asteria: the heir to an old god’s magic, and the future ruler of a collection of islands named Ignius. She’s fighting against her seemingly inevitable future, which involves marrying and birthing another heir before her magic kills her.
Alice: the future alpha of a werewolf pack, without the ability to shift into a wolf form. Instead, she’s inherited a long lost magic form from her father’s side of the family, and her right to rule has come under scrutiny
Scarlett: a mostly-vampire with no memories of her past, hiding from her former employer after saving the teenager she was supposed to assassinate, while searching for a force powerful enough to counter the strength of a company of hitmen
If any of these individuals interest you, feel free to hit that follow button!
Hullo everyone!

So, you know how in English names like Bob, Sally, Joe, etc. are often used for joke characters because they're the extremely common, "boring" names? What are some names like that in other languages? I'm especially interested in the "boring" Asian names, but would also love to hear some from any and all parts of the world. (The countries/continents listed in the tags are just to get the attention of people who know about those cultures and are not a comprehensive list. I was just kind of listing every country/language I could think of off the top of my head. Please forgive me if this is annoying.)
Oooh I KNOW there's people who will see this that KMOW. Please tell!
In Japan, Tarō (太郎) and Hanako (花子) are the two ‘stock’ names that are often used for as names in various examples — like examples of how to fill out a form, or names used in a math problem. Tarō is a masculine name, and Hanako is a feminine name.
Additionally, they are usually paired with the surname Yamada (山田).
Writing Prompt #58
"You can sleep in my room if you want."
"Don't you need a place to sleep, too?"
"Oh, I don't sleep much."
