At the Gates of Dis by Kim Jakobsson
people romanticise the idea of the ‘honeymoon stage’ a lot, but honestly there is so much comfort, familiarity, and vulnerability in a long term relationship… allowing someone to see you at your worst and lowest and ugliest and knowing they love you anyway and vice versa. it’s not all cute and fun and sexy it’s raw and messy and beautiful. it’s a deep kind of love and being seen and known that can only come with time. give me that any day over the honeymoon stage

so much better when you wait
forever and a day, that’s all i got
crying my fucking eyes out but in like a really good way. i’m seeing clarity, i’m feeling relief, i’m tasting the promise of tomorrow, i’m smelling breakfast within my new kitchen & i’m hearing my own voice of reason cheering me on. everything is okay & even actually really fucking good and im tired of feeling like shit despite that. this weight is not mine to bare thus i’m leaving it at this spot. it’s yours to find. my mind is mine. goodbye.
