Thunderstorm and then a rainbow! I actually saw a bolt of lightning in the rainbow for an instant.
When the coarse/rough feeling of leg hair starts getting to me on a sensory level, since I refuse to shave or wax my legs due to approximately all reasons ranging from dysphoria to sensitive skin issues to who has the time to Fuck That Bullshit, I apply: beard butter.
It's made for moisturizing and softening--basically conditioning--coarse hair, as well as the skin, without leaving weird residue.
They come in a wide variety of brands, ingredients, and pricepoints, I won't even begin to make a suggestion, but yes it is different than beard balm or beard oil.
Since it's going on legs, which means both less sensitive skin and much greater surface area than a beard, I recommend going for quantity over quality and getting something cheap.
It doesn't give you that dolphin smoothness, but it does make your legs feel nice and soft, and doesn't have the consequence of being extra prickly and itchy later. It might be especially good for people who are making the brave leap from shaving to not shaving.
