The notion that the member who's most "stable" is being promoted by Hybe is a fiction that's mostly been built by JK's fans as a justification because even they couldn't come up with any rational reason why JK is promoted so much more than any other member. Certainly Hybe hasn't said this as far as I know though I'm willing to be corrected if I'm off the mark on this. Also neither Hybe nor Bighit music follow this criteria anywhere else in any other group. Forget Hybe, before I listened to BTS and came into this fandom, I've never heard of "stability" being cited as a reason an artist was on top or being promoted. Beautiful, powerful vocals like Adele or Ariana Grande? Yes Stability? Nope. They have to use the flimsy moniker of stability because JK doesn't have powerful vocals like afore mentioned artists or even particularly great live vocals recently

Yes it’s some bullshit everyone came up with to explain the clear disparity in promo and in lines distributions between Jk and the other members. A label reason to promote someone isn’t cause they have better vocal stability. It’s also not the reason why he gets most of the lines or screen time.

When you’re not being polluted by armys/kpop opinions, jk’s voice isn’t anything special and Jimin’s voice is the stand out in the group. Vocal stability is great but I don’t think it’s the reason why most people might love an artist.

I’ve said this before, but take away Jungkook being the better technical singer and what does he have over Jimin?

Absolutely nothing.

Jimin has always been the more impactful performer and the better artist. HYBE chose Jungkook because he’s cookie cutter and pliant enough that he’ll do whatever is asked of him. A man who has been on record to say he doesn’t have a story to tell, doesn’t have any desire to write and will do whatever is asked of him does not make a better artist to promote. That makes him a puppet.

A case study can be done as to how Jungkook who dropped 3 singles with massive push, left no residual mark or barely comes up in conversations. But Jimin, who got drastically fucked over with Like Crazy that had zero promotion still manages to be the topic of the best solo debut a kpop soloist has ever had.

So no Jungkook is not the overall objectively better pick to promote over Jimin. He just has the luck to be favored more by Bang PD and the fandom. That’s literally it.

That anon kind of already provided an explanation.

It's because of the air that surrounds Jimin as a singer.

Whether that be his own critical eye of himself or the false characterizations armys project onto him.

They view jimin as a very flawed, insecure and weak person overall.

Jungkook is seen as perfect and the most capable singer in vocal line. No matter how many less than stellar performances he might have armys won’t hold it against him and just see it as "oh he just had a bad day."

He’s still seen as a good vocalist.

Whereas with Jimin, it's looked at as "typical." if he has a weak vocal day, despite him and Jungkook probably having just as many vocal mishaps as each other.

it kinda doesn't help that jimin himself will add to this narrative. because historically it hasn't been uncommon for him to criticize his voice, praise the other vocalists over himself, say he wishes he could sing like them or often talk about improving. but the thing armys don't seem to understand is that this has less to do with the members actually skill and more do to with their personality. jimin is just humble to a fault in a way no other member is. and he's also very unafraid of any criticisms of his skills and is very willing (a little too willing even) to acknowledge any and every flaw he has, which is something some members definitely don't like doing. so what this ends up resulting in is a long history where jimin will often acknowledge his weaknesses as a vocalist and say he will improve while the other vocalists don't say anything (and don't improve either) giving fans the impression that is because there's no flaws for them to talk about and jimin is the only one with a problem.

but there's also the the side of all of this that is about how the only vocalists that have historically mattered in the group are jimin and jungkook. i mean jin and taehyung literally debuted as sub-vocalist. and while the two of them have been given more lines since the pandemic, there's actually not a lot of songs that have been released since then even though it's a period of 6 years, so at the end of the day bts's discography still features jimin more than them and he is still overall second in the group in terms of line distribution. and it helps that the songs where jimin was done dirty are some of the least liked by everybody so whenever people think of bts's good music chances are it's music where jimin and jungkook took role as lead and main vocalist while the other two were only sub. so because of all of this, when it comes to the topic of bts and singing, people's mind still automatically go to only jimin and jungkook. and because people, consciously or not, don't really consider jin and taehyung as capital V "Vocalists" and instead see them more like visuals who also happen to sing, then that means people don't care about their vocal skills that much and therefore don't talk about it as often as they do with jimin whose vocal skills do matter as he is not only the group's only actual lead vocalist but also is the group's most memorable and arguably most significant voice.

also regardless of what their stans like to tell themselves, jimin is simply a more relevant topic than any other member so people will always talk about him more than any one else, be it good or bad things.

We also just have to consider that Jimin just doesn't seem super interested in being an ambassador for a bunch of brands. For him two brands it's probably more than enough.

I also have this theory that the reason he stopped working with Tiffany but didn't with Dior is because he actually likes Dior's stuff but not Tiffany's. If you paid attention back in 2023 Jimin barely used any jewelry and when he did it would either be very minimal or it would be Tiffany jewelry he used exclusively for one of their brand events or photoshoots. And I remember thinking that was so weird because Jimin has always liked wearing jewelry but when he finally became global ambassador for a jewelry brand he suddenly started barely wearing any. But after the contract with Tiffany ended and after he was discharged suddenly he was wearing jewelry again. He went back to using Chrome Hearts (which is a brand he clearly has loved for a very long time), Dior's jewelry (and it's kinda funny that when you compare it he has actually worn more Dior jewelry than Tiffany) and some other brands. But the point is that he was back to using it. So the only time he didn't use much jewelry was when he was signed to Tiffany, so my theory is that this is because he didn't actually like their stuff very much so he didn't want to wear it if he didn't have to but he also couldn't wear anything else because it would be kinda of a bad look for Tiffany's new GA to be wearing everything but Tiffany. But after the contract ended and after he was discharged he was free to wear whatever he wanted again which is why he was back to wearing jewelry. But with Dior he seems to actually like their clothes and has been seen using them outside of official events and photoshoots plenty of times so he decided it was no problem to renew with them. Also I think he's probably allowed to wear other brands' clothes more than than he would've been allowed to wear other brands' jewelry because there's more allowance with clothes than there is with jewelry since jewelry is more accentuated and used more sparingly so you'll normally only use one or two different brands and your choice of which ones to wear stands out more.

But anyway, that's just my theory and maybe I'm biased because I don't like Tiffany's jewelry. But either way, I don't think Jimin would want to sign with a brand unless he likes them and plans on actually using their products. Which is probably why he signed with Lador, he must've already worn their stuff and he also actually cares about hair care so it would make sense for him to sign with them. Which is very different from him signing with a brand he just kinda likes on a more general "everyone likes this" type of way but doesn't feel very strongly about (like Coca Cola), or even worse signing with a brand whose products he actually doesn't like at all (for a random and non specific example, like if someone who openly doesn't like coffe became an ambassador for a coffe brand).

I didn't really care for Tiffany's jewelry either. It didn't really have much diversity to it.

Dior's jewelry/accessory lines especially under Johnathan are really creative and I think right up Jimin's alley. I saw the bunny charm that he had at the airport yesterday and I thought it was really cute.

That and all the flowers that he likes to decorate his bags with.

And I think you're very right with him choosing to work with brands that he likes or already uses and I think that's best.

I'm honestly so tired of this narrative that Jimin "can’t sing." I'm tired of seeing people in the fandom constantly saying he has "improved" as if he was some terrible vocalist before and only now became acceptable.

What annoys me even more is that there are members who are objectively weaker vocally or who haven't shown the same level of improvement, yet nobody constantly brings it up or turns it into a part of their identity. With Jimin, people act like his whole story is "he was bad but got better" when that was never the reality.

I would honestly love to hear BTS songs without Jimin's voice, because maybe then people would finally understand how much his vocals actually add to their music. It's ridiculous how the fandom created this narrative about him not being able to sing, and then antis use that same narrative to attack him.

When we talk about Jimin’s brand we’re not referring to his brand deals. I mean Jimin as himself. Jimin could have 0 brand deals but his name still holds weight because he’s him. The only reason yall are so hung up on Jimin having multiple brand deals is because yall think he needs to compete with other members or idols. Having all these brand deals does not equate to demand or true popularity. Any idol can get signed because these companies know the value of kpop.

Who cares if Jimin only has two. The amount of publicity Jimin has gotten from and given Dior? Lador was able to expand their market for that product to different countries solely off of Jimin’s endorsement. These companies value Jimin’s perceived exclusivity because it feels like a win to bag him.

So frankly I’m ignoring a lot of y’all’s need to parrot or panic about Jimin needing to play catch up to desperate people who he’s been ahead of.

I've said this before but post military jimin moves different. It like a switch was flipped in him and now he's finally focusing on himself and his brand.

I do think it’s in part because he has the space/opportunity to do so now too.

Considering that before BTS didn’t have the ability to really do solo brand deals etc. Outside of that there could very well be a personal change in his mentality that also factors in there. Whether internal or external.

FIFA treating BTS the way Hybe treats Jimin is karmic. Not supporting either because Hybe and FIFA are both the worst but yeah not gonna shed tears about jimins 5 seconds being shafted. It's not nice when the best performer gets treated worse than their mediocre colleagues now is it? Anyway armys were espousing understanding about how sacrifices needed to be made and Jimin makes soooo much impact in just 5 seconds should be happy because BTS also makes soooo much noise even if FIFA doesn't post about them. They do. It kind of feels like a campaign almost.

Personally, I think they're pushing taejin because they need the push. Same with jhope and rm. Based on the outcomes of their solo works jin and especially th are so far behind jimin when it comes to a solo audience that actually engages with their work. I think they will be doing solo activites after this tour and the 3 or 4 members they are pushing especially hard are the ones who don't generate an audience on their own. They're going for equitable, not equal

I don’t think HYBE cares to push Taehyung or Jin cause neither of those two are their priority. They give Joon and Hobi what they want because they have good standing with the company. On top of that, I’m sure Hobi got in line to get the JK lite package deal for those english singles he dropped last year

HYBE definitely doesn’t care about anybody outside of Jungkook growing their solo audiences outside of BTS either though. And I’d actually say the other 4 do get “equal” push from the company. It’s just that, like you said, it’s doesn’t really equate to anything substantial because they don’t have large dedicated solo fan bases where it would actually matter.

I’ve been distancing from BTS and Jimin. I hear about things but don’t get involved, and I try not to let it affect me too much, but I have to admit that yesterday all my feelings came flooding back. I like football so I was watching the final, and just seeing it so obvious again, right in front of me, gave me a sense of hopelessness that made me cry. I know we all want him to leave the group, but also be prepared for the other possibility that he won’t, and that you’ll have to live with that frustration for the rest of his career or make peace with it

do you think the reason they’re pushing taekookjin the most is because they’re preparing us for when jimin leaves?? since arirang era began he’s slowly been pushed out from anything group related and jimin’s whole vibe completely shifted after the two months in la last year. i think he realized that he doesn’t see a future in bts and maybe even hybe/bighit and that’s why they’re not showing him anywhere. they’re being so blatant about their mistreatment towards jimin and the other members are all disgusting and selfish and i hope jimin leaves

I mean we all know why they're pushing JK theyve been doing it for years now. But the push Taehyung and Jin have been getting in Arirang era has just been so strange to me. Especially with Jimin being lead vocal and the better singer (regardless of what other people want to believe)

We can assume and project our own feelings onto Jimin because that's what we want to actually happen (him leaving) But the truth will always be we won't know until when and if it happens.

I just hope after this tour ends there's good news on the other side of it cause my patience has worn completely thin with BTS as a group and HYBE as a company.
