finally sharing the commissioned artwork i made an year ago for minchan fest round vii! i was very happy with it back then, and still happy with it now.

this is probably the last thing i’ve made in a very long time where it all went right, where i could pour everything in my heart into a drawing and have it come out looking worthwhile. it took a few days, and plenty of doodling on a notepad during boring meetings at my then-workplace. mostly it came together over one weekend, when i was wallowing over a cancelled date and listening to bollywood romantic playlists of the 2000s-2010s non-stop. i remember thinking i wanted them dancing, and looking in love (the celestial theme i can’t take credit for—it was the fest mods’ idea and a brilliant one that fit in exactly with my tastes).

it lived on my lockscreen for a month before it became unbearable to look at, and think i might never be here again. i’m still not. it’s still hard. but at least i have them dancing among the stars and in love 💙💜
