“you don’t have to lecture me on the art of a woman,” winifred pointed out quietly, eyes subtly taking in the audience around them to be sure she was keeping herself covered. winifred rolled her eyes in slight amusement at the girls words, “your bawd must be thrilled. considering.” she motioned to herself - most bawd’s got nervous at the idea of their harlots speaking with winnie; she had a knack for stealing them right from under their noses. but this gilr didn’t belong in winifred’s house. “i’m not lonely,” winifred shook her head in disagreement, though she was just that very thing. “i’ve a whole house of women dying to get their hands on my coin.” she referred to the molly house, ignoring the fact that she’d paid for the attention. whoever said money couldn’t buy happiness had it wrong.
“My apologies. Sometimes I’m speaking more to myself than the person I’m talking to.” Rebecca waved her hand at the mention of her bawd. Business was business and Rebecca socializing didn’t do anything to harm what they did at the molly house. She was smart enough to not shit where she ate. “I’m not talkin’ about the sort of loneliness you get from not having someone in your bed. I’m talking about the loneliness you feel when you’ve got no real friends in the world.” It wasn’t like she was extending her friendship, but she could only assume that everyone wanted something from the bawd. “ The conversations I have with my ladies before or after the throes of lovemaking makes me think about a life where every interaction wasn’t an exchange.”
