Wanderlust 2015

Wanderlust : Squaw Valley 2014

This was my first year attending Wanderlust : Squaw Valley, CA and wow what an incredible experience. This 4 day festival centers around Yoga, Music, and Nature. Around 5,000 people attended the festival, and it will filled with great energy, amazing food, music, and yogis. During the day I attended awesome yoga classes, pool parties at High Camp, lectures, and the night was filled with live performances by Hannah, MC Yogi, Big Gigantic, Nahko & Medicine for the People. My favorite musical performance was by Hannah Thiem, an incredible violinist/producer who incorporates dubstep into some of her songs. I attended a press conference with the Producers of Wanderlust, Sean Hoess and Jeff Krasno along with guest speakers Seane Corn and Gabrielle Bernstein. Local Natives @ State Theater, St.Petersburg FL

I have been a huge fan of Local Natives since I first saw them at Spaceland in Silverlake, CA many years ago. When I saw that they were playing in St.Petersburg, I was extremely excited they were coming here. It was my first time at State Theater in downtown St.Pete, it's a pretty small and intimate venue and the crowd was young. The opening act, was Moses Sumney, a solo musician who used a lot of layering with his vocals and played electric guitar on some of his songs. I have never heard of him before and it was his very first tour. He is extremely talented with his wide range of vocals and his songs were beautiful. He did one cover song, by the Majical Clouds, which is another band I enjoy. The Local Natives came on afterwards and as always from start to finish have the most energy that hypes up the entire crowd. They played songs from Gorilla Manor, Hummingbird, and a brand new cover from a never released song by Johnny Cash. Click on the photo thumbnails below to hear live audio from the show. If you have not heard of Local Natives, be sure to check them out and go see them when they come to your city! They are one of my favorite bands ever and always put on an incredible show! I also had the pleasure of running into Ryan Hahn, one of the guitarist/vocalist after the show. I was heading back to my car when my camera strap broke and I stopped back at the theater to regroup when I saw him. He is an extremely friendly and down to earth guy. Whigfest Music and Arts Festival

I attended the 2nd annual Whigfest Music and Arts Festival presented by Attic Records which is held on President's Day weekend. The 2 day festival was held at Jannus Live and surrounding bars in downtown St.Petersburg, Florida. The lineup included musical acts such as Pinback, Surfer Blood, The Legendary JC's, Cope, Stokeswood and many other local bands and artists. Harmony by the Bay Festival

I attended the Harmony by the Bay Festival this Saturday at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA. This amazing festival combined music, art, yoga, and an eco-market. The line-up of musical artists included The Shins, Tegan & Sara, Beats Antique, Matisyahu, Kimbra, and other great acts. The Creators Project Debuts in San Francisco, Infusing Art, Music, Film, and Technology

I was very fortunate to attend The Creators Project, an event that infuses art, technology, music, and film seamlessly. The Creators Project started as a partnership between Intel and Vice to intertwine art and technology. The event was held this past weekend at Fort Mason, San Francisco, their debut show in the Bay Area. The rain had ended just in time for the main event on Saturday, which included an amazing musical lineup. Headlining the music event on Saturday included, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Squarepusher, The Antlers, and Zola Jesus. A few of the innovative artworks displayed at the show were "Origin" by UVA + Scanner, "The Treachery of Sanctuary" by Chris Milk, and "My Secret Heart" by Mira Calix + Flat-e.
