       ”Will the sun come back one day ? I am tired of this snow all over my face …”

"Man, I know how you feel. I was encased in ice for a long time. Too bad the whole 'fun magic' thing doesn't seem to work on adults."

Why was he talking to someone who obviously couldn't see him? Well, maybe he didn't care so much as he used to. [Either that or he'd cracked under the pressure of so many years of being alone, but he wouldn't let that show if it was the case.] Kids could see him now, after all; not all of them, but it was a start. He shrugged, then gave a little grin and tapped on Russia's nose with the end of his staff, tilting his head. "C'monnnnnn, moping won't help anything. Maybe if I try hard enough I can get you to chill out a little and have some fun."

Psht. 'Chill out'. He laughed at his own joke, waving his staff a bit to watch shards of ice form.

Well, her main suspect was conveniently absent. But he couldn’t hide forever and more importantly, she noticed that she didn’t seem to be alone after all. And not just because the nine tail was nudging her leg to get her attention.

"Ah…oh hello. I’m sorry I didn’t notice you sooner."

"You--"

He cut the question off before he could ask it; right, more and more people were seeing him these days. But seldom were they adults; most of them, if not all, stayed blind to he and his friends. Generally speaking he almost never met an adult who actually believed in old legends, and he'd assumed she wouldn't see him either.

"Don't worry about it, most people don't." A little wry chuckle. "I'm kind of surprised you can see me, actually."

"A few batches of the moon cakes I made for the festival are missing…Darling, where are they?”

Whoops. She'd noticed. Being invisible to most people had perks sometimes, and those cakes had looked really good; he'd only snagged a couple, though, so she wasn't pissed at him. Right? She'd said batches, not three... or four... or five... "Uh..."
