『✧°♔』 Though exploring large libraries was not any kind of foreign concept to the young boy, there was something much different about the one Ciel’s currently found himself lost in. There are hundreds, no… thousands of books he’s never seen or even heard of before. For the noble who finds plenty of comfort in reading over much of anything else, it’s a bit of a dream come true, though he’d never admit such a thing out loud.
A wide, blue eye examines the shelves carefully, inspecting each title as he passes it, hoping to find something that could peek his interest even just a bit. To be perfectly honest, it all seemed so fascinating to him, but he’s well aware that he definitely does not have all the time in the world.
He suddenly perks up, extending his hand forward to grab at one that had been sticking out oddly from the rest on the shelf.
“Night on the Galactic Railroad…” Ciel mumbles to himself, reading the title. He wonders if perhaps this work could keep him entertained for a while, flipping through the pages to browse for a summary.
⊰ || ⊹ | Trips to the library have become almost weekly, if not daily. Hitori didn’t quite mind; being among the rows of books reminded him greatly of his younger brother. And this longing for his brother’s presence again was a fact that he couldn’t bring himself to deny.
What was embarrassing to admit was that he allowed himself to check out only one book at a time, so as not to distract himself from his own work. However, such a self imposed rule seemed rather useless when there was only one novel he holds remarkable interest in. For a good reason, at that.
Making his way through bookshelf after bookshelf, he practically memorized the way to this specific section of the library. He had stumbled upon it by chance, and quite a good stroke of luck it was. Though, perhaps it was a different stroke of luck to encounter a young boy dressed in such formal garment, as if pulled out from another era. ||
❝ Are you interested in that book as well? ❞ Hitori looks at the boy gently, with a smile ever so soft. A nod, before tilting his head. ❝ It’s quite a lovely read. I would recommend it. ❞
❝ There are actually multiple versions of it in existence, because of circumstances. The fourth one, however... ❞ He slides the book he had been holding into the empty space on the shelf, the space the boy had left when he pulled out his copy. ❝ ...happens to be the most famous among Japanese readers. ❞
