|| ♜ ┈┆⊱ Surely, Edward Midford couldn’t allow himself to be cooped up in his room all day, despite how unfathomably similar it was to his manor. If anything, remaining stationary only seemed to agitate himself more. There were many the ways to take up his time, be it exploring the city, paying a visit to the library, or even practicing cricket in the park.
However, thoughts refuse to stray from one specific matter at hand: Elizabeth’s whereabouts. His presence within the city greatly turned into an inconvenience as he acknowledges that, yes, his dearest sister is still missing and, yes, he is tottering about like a fool as if hours in the day were as countless as grains of sand on a beach.
The frustration that plagued his mind only seemed to grow until Edward decided that he had been sitting around for too long. Some form of distraction was needed.
Shutting the door to his hotel room behind him with a rather audible slam, he could only hope that fellow residents on the floor would pay the noise no mind. A look down the hall showed not a person in sight, sans a young boy that had just turned the corner. If Edward hadn’t known any better, why, he would have mistook the boy for his cousin--
That is, his eyes hadn’t failed him.
❝ Ciel! You’re here as well? ❞ What sour expression he already wore only seemed to worsen into an outright scowl. ❝ What of the search for Elizabeth? ❞
