So I did some thinking about this scene.

There was trust between Ayo and Bucky. She read his trigger words. She called him White Wolf when she first saw him at the beginning of ep 4.

“Eight hours, White Wolf.”

Note that she also warned him and give him 8 hours. She could’ve easily just attacked the home that him, Sam, and Zemo were staying at but she didn’t. She trusted Bucky and listened to what he had to say first.

Ayo also opened up to him and expressed the deep personal shame that Zemo had brought to herself as a member of the Dora Milaje, appointed by T’Chaka. Nevertheless, she gave him a heads up despite the fact that he was running around with her king’s murderer.

So when he interfered in the fight she disarmed him as Zemo got away. I believe she said:

“Bast damn you, James.”

He betrayed her trust and she called him James not White Wolf. That ain’t good, bro.

I think it’s also important to note that as a warrior of the Dora Milaje she don’t give a shit if he a sad boy. Okoye dropped her man so quick for Wakanda in the Black Panther movie. So, I’m not surprised that Ayo did this as Wakanda always comes first.

Bucky is shocked that they could do that to him. You know, take his arm off. But to Ayo, Bucky in this moment is a means to ends because all she wants is Zemo for killing her king from all those years ago.

So yeah, oh no Bucky’s autonomy... but the man had it coming. Sam straight up told him that they’d be hella mad in ep 3. Wakanda helped his ass even though they didn’t have to and he let the man that murdered their King free...

However, I understand Bucky’s behavior. He is desperate, trying to grasp onto some semblance of himself. He lost Steve, his final attachment to his former self. So, seeing Walker with Sam’s shield and the rise of super soldiers has him acting way out of line which Sam points out in ep 3 when Bucky wants to break Zemo out of prison:

"I've been on the wrong side of that code and so have you. He blew up the UN, he killed King T'Chaka and framed you for it. Did you forget that? You think the Wakandans forgot about it? It's a rhetorical question. They didn't.”

"I know why this matters to you but c'mon... it's pushing you off the deep end."

And then he does it anyways. Because that’s how much the shield means to him. It means absolutely everything to him. Steve saved his life just as much as Wakanda did, if not more. He wants to save Steve’s legacy now. However, now he faces the consequences of his actions.

So I understand both sides.

lemar realizing walker is actually losing his mind is a way more interesting story. like him seeing walker going way too far against the flag smashers and having a dawning realization that his partner is bad??? and then having to turn to sam like “you were right we need to stop him” even though he still cares about walker??? but he has to fight walker because he can’t stand with a man who’s let power turn him into something evil?????? and walker getting more unstable and more paranoid as the person he trusts the most turns against him?????unparalleled drama!!!!!! but nope! we don’t get that!

Can we talk about Ayo being the personal bodyguard of T'Chaka, King of Wakanda, and how much pain and guilt and shame and anger and sadness she felt after he was murdered while she was there, watching.

Can we talk about Ayo and Bucky obviously having a deep and personal connection with each other. Ayo was the one who was trusted to test to see if Bucky had recovered. I imagine Bucky had a say in who that person was. And her joy when she told him that he was free. Him allowing himself to be open and vulnerable with her. Bucky saying he appreciates everything that "her and Shuri" did for him. Ayo calling him White Wolf.

I haven't seen enough people talk about Ayo's perspective in the whole situation. How betrayed and hurt she must have felt when the man who she had this connection with, who she helped, who her country help, freed the man who killed her king, the man she was supposed to protect.

The whole situation is shitty and difficult for all parties involved and we, as an audience, shouldn't be watching this in black and white when everything about the show is grey.

To be clear, Ayo was 100% justified in disarming Bucky, who engaged her in a fight. Who freed the murderer of her king. Ayo did what she had to do and I'm positive that the situation was not easy for her, this woman who has shown obvious care and empathy toward said man.

I, personally, can feel empathy for Bucky while also completely acknowledging that Ayo was right.

And people need to acknowledge that Ayo did what she needed to do.

let's hear it for sam wilson,

the kindest character in the mcu who right from the beginning has been one of the most empathetic voices that people can't help but listen to, who can relate to the struggles of those who are ignored or tossed aside in favour for the big battles and players, whose first option is peace and not violence, who sees someone getting hurt and steps in even though he's been disrespected by that person several times, is genuine and tries to make things right and cares.

This is my very first Reylo fic EVER that I outlined and plotted in exactly two and a half hours after seeing a prompt by @galacticidiots​ and I’m very excited to put it out there. 

I’ve been obsessed (and I truly mean obsessed) with Tamino’s lyrics for the past year because they’re absolute perfection and wondered why no one had written Reylo fics based on them?? alas, write the pics you want to see in the world. Here’s a little snippet of mine!!

From space, the planet had been nearly indiscernible, only revealing itself to him through the pulsing of its force signature. A slow simmering undercurrent that had dragged Kylo planetside before he could do anything but let his ship be pulled adrift by invisible strings. The slow descent quickly morphing into a dangerous plummet as the gravitational field of the small planet––one that he had previously underestimated––had proven too powerful for the old engine to overcome.

Mercifully, Kylo lands in a grassy clearing, the remnants of his ship carefully perched on the edge of a cliff. Really, he thinks, it could’ve been a lot worse. Not exactly subtle for a kidnapping mission though.
