shieldmaidensdaughter:
Kara saw the new men arrive along the shores of Kattegat. She had been watching from afar before she made her way down from her perch along the rope and wooden bridge near the Great Hall. Her golden hair was pulled back into intricate braids and she wore the uniform of a shieldmaiden.
Approaching the man sitting on the crates, the first thing that struck Kara was how young he looked. Usually they had battle hardened and worn out fishermen reach their shores. But this man looked young, yet tough. “Welcome to Kattegat. The Kingdom of the Ragnarssons.”
Solvi looked up at the sound of a voice. Pretty. “I have been greeted by one of these infamous Ragnarssons....” He couldn’t remember which one, there were so many. “And was bestowed with his guest rights.” He added with a bit of a smirk flickering on his lips. He glanced down at his ledger for a moment before looking up to her again, “I was not aware of a Ragnarsdottir...” He added, pausing as if to add more before his attention was called back to his crew. “Aye!” He called and moved down off the crates to stand at his full height - barely taller than the woman who had arrived to greet him. He sat his ledger down, giving her a look that indicated his apologies, and made his way to the men. He walked with his right leg never passing his left; an awkward gate that did not give him the speed he desired on solid ground. He spoke with the men, directing where he wanted cargo to go and correcting the mistakes he saw about to take place before he started back to the crates.
