drawing your favorite characters brown because you want more representation in anime/games is not racist.

drawing brown characters pale because you can’t handle seeing brown skin unless it’s a background character, comedy relief, or a villain is racist. you’re sending the message “i’d like them better if they were paler.”

colored fans want to feel seen, because mainstream anime and games almost never give us a seat at the protagonist table. when we redraw furina or miku or nezuko as black, it’s not to erase anything. it’s to reclaim space that was never offered to begin with.

If you're already my follower, then you must have seen my other posts about Kholood (@kholoodpals). She's a mother of two young children, and she lives with her husband, her mother, and her younger brother. As of late, the family has been struggling to buy food and rent somewhere else to live.

Sadly, her fundraisers often go days without receiving new donations. I'm aware not everyone has spare money, but several of my posts end up not spread around enough. And I hope I am not guilt-tripping anyone or calling anyone who doesn't reblog a "heartless monster". That's not my intention. However, it does break my heart that posts about Kholood are being more and more overlooked, be it because of Tumblr shadowbanning actual Palestinian blogs, or Tumblr users accusing said blogs of being scammers without any proof.

Calling someone ableist for not supporting proshipping isn't accurate. Just because some neurodiverse people display characteristics of children doesn't mean it's appropriate to compare them to kids. Adults have agency and aren't the same as kids. Being against harmful behavior depicted in fiction is NOT ableist.
