Flowers in BSRB pt. 2: New Beginnings

In the bath scene, Mischa recounts to Palmier that "Ivar" would gift her flowers every night. When he asks which one was their favorite, Mischa replies:

"Daffodils, for new beginnings."

Palmier blushes at this response with one of the softest expressions we've see on him so far. (soooo cute)

Reddit user Fine-Dragonfly-1252 pointed out that daffodils are his associated flower from the last game. By singling out daffodils, it's like Mischa/we are saying we treasure Palmier above the others.

The concept of "new beginnings" also takes on a whole new meaning, considering that Palmier was essentially reborn to find he was a witch, watched his mother die, killed his father, and cut off all his friends. Given his copious amounts of self-loathing, a new beginning is probably the one thing he wants most.

Perhaps this is why he likes Mischa so much. They didn't know him from before. He gets to be a new person with them.

It really is precious and kind of sad how, throughout the demo, Palmier is always so elated to find that we like him.

Quill and Thane are vampire hunters! Also, Thane might be sent to Vortec as backup? That would also necessitate sending Fia as well because they're soulbonded, right?

Thane's involvement has also been foreshadowed in the demo. While exploring town, Palmier sees a painting, and he thinks the artist might be an old friend. And while exploring the castle, Mischa discovers a note left by their alternate self talking about Thane's mother.

Will Thane finally find the cure for his mother?

BUT we know that Winston is keeping Palmier's involvement a secret.

They're gonna show up and tackle Palmier; they'll be so glad to see him. We've seen in the demo that Palmier holds a metric shit ton of self-loathing, especially with respect to his friendships. It'll be interesting to see him confront that loathing when his delusion meets reality.

Look at that Palmier's character flaws fall into the theme of drowning in delusions.

Gotta love Mss Xero. Her writing is just phenomenal.

recently, more like... Two hour ago, I downloaded "Bewitching Sinners Royal Blood", and you know, I first thought "eh, it's in demo, how attached could I be?"

LONG WHITE HAIR, IN UNIFORM, A CHILDHOOD FRIEND, DEEPLY JEALOUS/INSECURE? DOES HE NOT SOUND LIKE A XAVIER X CALEB FANCHILD?! I KNOW THERE WAS A LOVE AND DEEPSPACE REFERENCE! CMON, HE'S BOTH OF MY MAINS!

He's so reliable, too. And he clearly shows he cares for Mischa, from noticing her small shifts in mood to openly telling her she's his best friend.

The childhood friend and devoted prince is indeed very Xavier and Caleb coded.

On a totally unrelated note, what is he gonna do when he realizes "his" Mischa is dead? He obviously cared for them. Are we cooked?

BEWITCHING SINNERS IS BACK AND I CAN FINALLY DATE PALMIER THIS TIME AHHHHH. Until the demo drops I'll just be re-watching Yinny's video, and theorizing based on nothing but scraps and 90% wishful thinking.

Theory 1: Palmier is already in love with us (or at least very close)

So it's pretty much all but stated that Palmier posed as Ivar, lied about us being soulmates, all to manipulate MC into giving up our humanity for the sake of infiltrating the vampire stronghold. However, I think he definitely caught feelings. While for us the courtship lasted around a month, for him it was a year. This might explain why he acts so ridiculously fond and behaves with such casual affection, because he spent a year basically wooing us. If this was all just for the sake of the mission, wouldn't he have stopped?

When he later reappears as Ivar, he acts disgusted with Palmier's affections and admits to being insanely jealous, which I interpret as part guilt and part actual truth. What if he is actually jealous? When Osgar goes to kiss us in the train, Palmier "accidentally" hits him, something that is played off as him being a silly asshole but what if it's actually an indicator that he's legitimately jealous of the other suitors? Of the fact that he can't love us as himself?

Finally, his bio and conditions for romancing him are obscured, but what if that's because he's already in love with us? Admittedly this is 70% wishful thinking because Palmier's hot and I love the potential dramatic angst. I know he's written to be charming and obnoxiously flirty, but he's also so caring even when he doesn't need to be. He says his magic is heavily limited within the palace, but still uses it to soothe our pain even though we have a healing ability. He flirts with us constantly, dismissing it as dramatics but often following it up by asking what we want and being an emotional safe space. He took us to the beach because we'd been chronically bedridden and had never seen the ocean. We fall asleep??? on his lap??? while he brushes our hair and calls us sweet pet names?????????

Theory 2: Our cousin cares about us in a severely unhealthy way

This is honestly even more baseless than the first theory but frankly, why hasn't Alexei just killed us? If this was any other situation I'd say "oh it's to prevent civil unrest" but it's made so clear that Alexei is not only insanely powerful, but vampires wouldn't really care if we did die. Alexei killed his own father but won't murder his cousin? A cousin everyone thinks he hates? Instead he wants to marry us off to someone we choose so that we live a short life? He tortures us publicly but also lets us punch and slap him in front of the same public? It could be a power play but also like, it does imply some degree of weird fondness? Idk he's weird and I'm throwing it out there now that he probably does love us but in the scary way.

Theory 1 is my FAVORITE BSRB prediction at the moment. I also love the dramatic angst of the man who set himself up as the villain (he's got enough self-loathing to believe he fills the role) and then catches feelings. Give me all the guilty yearning.

Also, the moment with Alexi in the throne room where Alexi began tormenting us, Palmier refused to let go of our hand until Alexi slammed him into the floor multiple times. Like??????? ???????

He cares. He hates to admit it, but his actions speak for him.
