Being a feminine man or boy is not performance, it's self-expression.

BL about rollerblading with heavy black influence and black character lineup.
The other day someone told me that I can't be a trans man because I'm intersex and have a penis, so I said, "Doesn't that mean that trans men who have had phalloplasty also cannot be trans men?" And they, without even blinking, replied, "Correct, because then they'd just be cis men because they would be men with penises."
What the fuck man.
I think y'all would like to know that this same person also once had this... "interesting" theory that intersex people exist because a long time ago, aliens were getting people pregnant and mutating their DNA enough to where this kind of deviation beyond birth sex binaries is possible. That was fucked up.
OH, also, they were (idk if they still are because I haven't talked to them in a bit, and I do not want to talk to them in the future, and it seemed like they were uncertain) a flat Earther.
They had a lot of stuff to say.
It just consistently gets worse
Intersex people: Being intersex does not mean you canβt be male or female
Perisex people: Ohhh okay! I see now!
Intersex people: Thank you
Perisex people: All intersex people are just AFABs and AMABs with slight variations!
Intersex people: ????????????
I think tumblr needed to see this since my dash is full of posts about this subject atm
i wish we were able to talk about women's rights without someone mentioning how much they do or don't want to have sex with them. i don't care if you're a lesbian Stop finding worth in women purely from their perceived attractiveness
"I think women should not be expected to shave for societal respect / to avoid discrimination" "yeahπ€€ i love bush" ok well that's not what we're talking about is it.
i hate how many posts about trans women deserving respect always devolve into "I love girldick" or "trans rights but I don't want to date a trans person" because that's entirely unrelated to the topic at hand. you should not respond to feminism with "YESSS I loveeee you because I see you as nothing but a sex object" you people sound like other men I get stuck talking with that end up saying "free the nipple so I can see boobies in public" and thinking they're feminists. why can't we just respect women regardless of your attraction to them or not. why does it need to be brought up in every conversation regarding their rights
hope it's alright to screenshot and add your examples <3 very well worded

one thing i find strange about TERFism and trans-criticism is how much of it is just attractiveness politics. it seems to be the leading talking point. sure, make your points on sexual dimorphism or biological sex differences (which any normal trans woman is fully aware of already, mind you. the average transsexual is not claiming sheβs experiencing period cramps lol) but so much anti-trans discourse seems to just be βwell youβre ugly so youβre not a woman and i feel unsafe.β which seemsβ¦. so counter-productive to your movement. trans women, like any group of people, are nowhere near exempt from criticism, but what is the point of putting so much emphasis on such an empty and invalid viewpoint? so much of feminism seems to hark on how men only respect women they find attractive, yet the majority of your breath is spent on here pointing out physical characteristics that you seemingly think invalidate someoneβs identity. how does having broad shoulders, a wide jaw, and a five oβclock shadow somehow equate to being a predatory rapist? itβs a mindset iβve never understood. obviously itβs prevalent outside trans discourse, people just generally seem to equate ugliness with evilness, but you would think a group of individuals who posture themselves steeped and rooted in theory and academics wouldnβt weaponize such a vapid and vague talking point. (not to say only terfs do it, your average Internet Man absolutely loves to dunk on the fuckability of any given trans woman at any given time, butβ¦.. fork found in kitchen.) idk, iβve just always found it odd. like iβm sorry but i just donβt buy into the idea that youβre supposed to be reasonably terrified of someone in a public bathroom because you think theyβre ugly. i think you might just be an asshole.
in a dream I
Trans girls, in my experience, have largely lived an existence in which for the vast majority of our lives, we've never been anybody's first choice romantically. That's if we're chosen at all.
Second choice? Yeah. Back up plan? Happens. Fetishized? Always.
But never just chosen. Never just pursued. Never loved quite as much as we need. Never the object of obsession. Never the focus of passion.
Every love feels like it's one better option disappearing like a vapor in the wind.
So I say all that to say, if you're romantically inclined, and you love a trans girl. Choose her. Really choose her. Choose her in every moment. Make her feel like she's the only one that matters and do it every day, because it's possible, likely even, that she's never felt that before.
Really choose her, or you will break her heart.
If you're not willing to do that, leave her the fuck alone.
ALSO. FLOWERS. FOR THE LOVE OF GODS GET HER FLOWERS SHE HAS PROBABLY NEVER BEEN GIVEN FLOWERS ROMANTICALLY IN HER LIFE.

I love how Zohran Mamdani is wearing a suit everywhere. And if he has anything else he puts it ON TOP of the suit. A basketball jersey. A high-vis vest. All worn over the suit. Heβs like the mayor character in a cartoon whoβs always dressed as The Mayor. If I didnβt know who he was and he biked past me in NYC Iβd be like holy shit was that the mayor
Not to bring the serious to a very fun post, but this reaction is exactly what Mamdani is working for with his image, because in a very real way the most effective way for him to be The Mayor is if he looks like The Mayor.
This is a man who is VIOLENTLY aware that when it comes to conservatives, he is a Muslim first, a Brown Man second, an Immigrant third, a Socialist fourth, and a human a very distant fifth, if considered at all. He was also a young adult during the Obama Years and will have seen Republicans rip Obama to shreds for wearing a tan suit instead of a dark one and use literally ANY excuse they could to try and degrade his image.
Despite the fact that a mayor who wears a T-shirt and jeans might "seem more approachable" in the eyes of the average American, Zohran Mamdani knows that someone with his profile fundamentally cannot get away with that the way his White colleagues can. He has instead put in the effort to look professional and BE approachable, because not only does it make it easier for him to reach and represent his constituents, it forces everyone, including both his opponents and establishment Democrats, to engage with the work he is doing instead of judging his image. The fact that he is always seen in a suit and is recognisably The Mayor is, while also something he has fun with, a deliberate choice to ensure he is as inarguably A Professional Politician To Be Taken Seriously. The added humour of e.g. the hi-vis is a bonus, only achievable because he works so hard to Look Like The Mayor.
Adding these tags from @haunted-stranger-garden bc they illustrate this brilliantly
