Australia’s Social Media Ban for Under 16s is now real
Hello! To celebrate the year coming to a close, I have finally made a new roleplay video. Please enjoy!
One of my favorite aspects of making ASMR videos is the ability to use my content to iterate and practice upon my video production skill set.
The biggest change I've made of late is upgrading my 3 point lighting setup. Previously I was copying the setup from diagrams without much thought put into lighting angle or varying strength.
With practice I've found that depth is created in the face via varying the intensity of lighting between important lights, namely the key and fill lights. Having one brighter and one dimmer adds a subtle shadow and contrast to the face that helps it feel cinematic. Dialing it in to correct amounts is something I've been getting a feel of simply through repetition.
Thank you for watching and motivating me to continue learning! Comparing progress and seeing how my new videos compare to the old is quite rewarding.
New videos coming soon! The new microphones have arrived and I'm excited to try them.
I genuinely couldn't take it anymore, so I'm getting new equipment. One of the biggest issues I've faced is a practical, technical issue. For a very long time, I've had a broken NT1A microphone; I assume the capsule inside is broken somehow. This result is that I have to closely monitor the waveform off camera while filming, and have to take a break for minutes at a time to avoid a distorted recording.
The image here is from my latest video. I'm essentially having a nap because of how long I've had to wait. Pretty funny looking back while editing - but I had to scrap the whole video because the sound was simply too distorted.
So, I have made the decision to move from classic NT1a to the NT1 Signature Series. This, however, does have a different sound profile. Apparently, it has less self-noise and is superior in some ways. I am both excited but also a bit nervous that my ASMR sound might change.
As an audio nerd, ASMR lover, and artist, it's a bit scary to change one of your key tools. I hope that you can appreciate my work regardless of the new microphones.
P.S. This does unfortunately mean that I no longer have a video set for this Wednesday. Depending on how quickly the new microphones arrive, I may not have one for Friday either. Most likely, normal posting will resume next Monday.
Thank you very much for supporting me! Best regards, Harry
(ASMR) The Yonaguni Monument off the coast of Yonaguni Island, Japan. Experts have discussed whether this formation is man-made or a complex natural monument.
Hi everyone, I hope you can join me in learning about the Yonaguni Monument in today's ASMR video! As always, I hope you feel relaxed and learn something new.
(ASMR) Have you heard of Australia's blood-sucking frog-man, the Yara-ma-yha-who?
My new Whispering Wikipedia video is live! We're diving into the bizarre case of Gef, the talking mongoose. Please enjoy. I found this story interesting, super weird, and incredibly charming.
The Bloop was an ultra-low frequency sound recorded in the deep Pacific Ocean, which for a long time remained unexplained. To learn more, watch my full ASMR video on the topic! I hope you can relax and enjoy learning with me.
