Title: The Locker Room Incident
Summary: In which ex-manager of Nekoma, gets dragged into becoming a manager for Japan’s Olympic volleyball team, all thanks to her friend/co-worker Kuroo tricking her into doing it without giving her any details.
She thought it would be easy to manage a bunch of 20 something-year-old men at first, but she’s proved otherwise when the majority of them act like teenage boys, clueless and dumb with only volleyball on their mind.

• You shrugged it off because it was one date - and not a big one either like your one year or just a fancy dinner
• You picked yourself stuff up and head to the gym he’s most likely practicing at and seeing him getting frustrated at the ball
• You walked over to him, set down your bag and picked up a volleyball
“You seem stressed... what are you working on handsome?”
• He jumped before seeing you with a ball and started panicking
“Oh my gosh - we had a date today! I’m so late! I’m so sorry! I’ll never let this happen again-“

“tets,” you piped up. he gave you a hum as a reply and watched you as you got ready for bed. “i have the greatest news.”
he readjusted his position on his bed and nodded. “and that is?”
“so you know how i’ve liked haiba-san for a while...” a sharp stab to the chest. he grunted, his hand reaching for his chest instinctively. you looked at the camera.
“you okay?” “mhm, keep going. im fine dont worry about it,” he flashed you his signature grin although you didnt notice it was a bit faltered.
“well, ive liked haiba-san for a while,” kuroo let out a cough. you looked at him, worried for a moment, just to see he turned his camera away from himself.
“are you sure you’re okay tetsurou?” you sighed and moved from your dresser to your bed. “if you wanted me to stop talking about haiba-san, you couldve just said so..”
“nope, im fine, dont worry about it peaches,” his voice was gruff and he was clearly straining.
“get a drink of water or something... anyways. turns out he likes me as well! we’re going out to eat next saturday, isnt that amazing?” you continued rambling on and on about how excited you were to finally get a chance with lev, completely blind to the fact that kuroo had muted himself to hide his coughing fit.
“hey—“ he unmuted himself and caught your attention. “something came up. my mom.. uh.. she needs something. sorry. bye y/n.”
“oh okay- bye tets! see you tomorr-“
he quickly hung up and let his phone fall to the floor. his eyes were wide and filled to the brim with tears threatening to spill over. kuroo’s breathing was severely labored as he stared down at the assortment of blood splattered petals in his hand.
“what the fuck.. what the fu-“ he was cut off by another harsh coughing fit. hacking up another petal or two, he stood up abruptly and made a dash for the bathroom.
‘am i hallucinating?’ he asked himself immediately on the way to the bathroom. his eyebrows knitted together as he turned sharply into the bathroom and stared at the mirror.
he looked a lot more tired than usual. his face was a bit on the paler side, his eyes looked sunken in.. he just looked exhausted. his chest felt like it was being squeezed tightly by a giant fist. kuroo’s legs gave out from the lack of air.
his mind automatically went to you. did this have to do something with you? it couldn’t have, you were way too nice to ever poison him. it only happened when you started talking about lev.
‘lev.’ his eyes narrowed at the name and his hands balled into fists. just thinking of the name made him angry. how could lev, of all people, be better than him?
it didnt help that he didnt even realize he was hyperventilating. he stared up at the ceiling in a panic, eyes darting from one point to another. he wondered if this would be the end for him— it really seemed like it.
his body shook again as he rolled his head over and coughed a new assortment of petals onto the floor, a decent amount of blood coming along with it.
his eyes felt heavy as his body calmed down from undergoing such intense attacks at a rapid pace. he sat up from his laying position, already missing the cool feeling of the bathroom floor.
kuroo looked himself in the eyes through the mirror.
“what.. what the fuck was that?”

Though I haven’t seen this particular type of thing written yet, I don’t mean to claim this event idea as my own bc I feel a lot of events that ppl put up may have some overlapping themes n such (tho this idea would def be more specific and be cause for concern of plagiarism) and bc I would never want to steal ideas/not ask other writers first/not credit other writers (that’s not cool fam). » how to play:
I. you can refer here for the general rules of my blog. also, for this event (and it’ll say in the descriptions below), i’m only accepting one character per request. also the word count limits i wrote here may change as im getting started on actually writing requests lol
II. essentially a collection of x reader one-shots, drabbles, and smaus in which you are a busy college student whose only break seems to be spending time with friends who actually get you or the 15-minute lunch break during which you get to ignore annoying customers
III. since this is otome-inspired, i have several options you can choose from. these options are essentially types of requests:
» everyday is a new start
» drabble about how you meet the character of your choice
» it is not guaranteed y’all are gonna gel (get along) when you first meet,, warning: if the character is usually a bitch, i may write them as one LMAO jkjk but fr
» usually light, fluffy, and/or silly
» hmm tbh,,, idk word count,,, probs anywhere between 700-1k words (i edited this word count after writing my first thing bc HNNN)
» the only characters you can’t request this for is yamaguchi, tsukki n hinata,,, bc you meet them in the prologue AHAHA sry it’s nothing too spaicy since it’s just in the intro
» it’s all in the little things
» one-shots about normal, daily interactions with the character of your choice
» in other words, these include what can go on in a day in the life of y/n and the character of your choice (after they’ve already met). in the city, the possibilities are endless
» give me a word (or several, cuz writing is hard lmao. also legit any word, like ‘orange’ or ‘nostalgia.’ i may choose only one or do a combination from your list :3) as a prompt and ill somehow make something of it lmao
» medium relationship development + exp
» 700-1.5k words
» hmmm what should i get today?
» very short drabble with a character of your choice about various scenarios and thots i have in my head
» a complete surprise, totally random, may have no context
» may be serious, fluff, crack, etc.
» if u choose this u basically told me ‘surprise me’
» 100-300 words, depends on my mood
» when i see your name pop up on the screen, i can’t help but smile
» short smau with a character of your choice
» fluff or crack, ur choice or leave that up to me (if unspecified, ill just flip a coin)
» you can either give me a word(s) as a guide or leave the topic of convo up to me
» 2-4 panels
» you’d be surprised how much can happen in a day
» BMO has nothing to do with this, i just found a cute pixel of him
» spaicy relationship development, the scenes in which you actually make progress in the game
» one-shot with a character of your choice
» order from the following:
» macaron: when they realize they’ve fallen for you
» banana bread: when you realize you’ve fallen for them
» iced americano: when they feel a tinge of jealousy
» hot chocolate: when they see you crying
» matcha latte: when they have a longing to be around you
» cupcake: love confession (may be intentional or accidental)
» major relationship development + exp + sometimes confusion
» 1-2k words
» these will probs take me longer
» all good things must come to an end
» not as angsty as those bolded words above sound,,, unless you want it to be >:)
» drabble or one-shot with a character of your choice. the final interaction before finishing the game
» you have three options: good end (fluffy, romantic & the like), bad end (angst), or crack end (surprise)
» word count will be super variable, from 300-1.5k words
IV. this forces me to write one-shots, drabbles, anything but hc’s, and also forces me to limit my word count. that said, this will take me a hot minute, y’all. word counts may change too bc i am,,, indecisive n untalented AHAHA
