In Spanish there’s an old-fashion sarcastic way of telling someone they shouldn’t be there which is asking “who gave you a candle for this burial?”
Sharing secrets
When I was 15-16 I went to a church youth group every week and one of the ‘teachers’ had a sister that was about our age so he would sometimes bring her along. During the first weeks we all did games and activities in small groups to get to know each other and the first time the sister came he paired her with me because we both like one direction. We had to do things like hug each other, show our cellphone’s homescreen or make little dances together. So the last part of that activity was tell each other a secret about ourselves and she said something like “I failed my last test” but when it was my turn I came closer to her and whispered “I have Wattpad too” and we both shared that knowing look the rest of the day. Since then every time she came with her brother she would do the group activities with me and everyone thought we bonded over our common music taste but we had something more than that, we shared a secret that no one else knew about.
