So glossy! Photo from my collection, ca. 1920s. The cat is identified as “Bamie” - maybe named after Bamie Roosevelt?

this is literally one of my favorite works of art of all time I find wonderful and comforting and it inspires me immensely.
The so-called "walking popcorn bug" is actually a flatid planthopper nymph covered with a protective layer of waxy white filament, like a cottony cushion.
how the fuck did this bastard learn to teleport
Popcorn mimics also 'pop' to check for prey and lure unsuspecting adventurers, but you can tell the difference in that regular popcorn only pops as it's turning INTO its fluffy form, and will not move once already cooked.

One of my favorite animals in the world! In this video you can see how they usually swim around on their backs, with their snoot pointed upwards! Also just the way this video is directed is great
I strongly feel this is an animal group that deserves to go as viral in our society as giant isopods, tardigrades, mole rats or sloths have in the past few years. It's adorable and ridiculous but totally alien and there's nothing else quite like them in all the world.
