Hi! here's why staff hasn't made a bug-safe mode for canopy crepes
A userstyle is a lot different from an built-in toggle
userstyles are basically image replacers, using a pre-made extension, it's putting a coat of makeup on a site. It's purely visual and client side
FR cannot use the userstyles code to make a toggle, they have to make that code themselves, which, since these changes are server side, can mess with other lines of code and possibly break a few things
2. Userstyles don't need to go through The Process
ok so when you make official art for a petsite like FR, you have to go through a process of quality control. Every step of the art process has to be looked over and approved by the lead artists, and keeping in style with the site can be pretty strict. Userstyles are made by individual people in their spare time and are not judged as official content
3. Well now you have to make the toggle remove All Insects
you add a bug-free mode for fairgrounds, and now you have to add it for the whole site. Bugs are one of the 4 types of food dragons eat, there's over 250 bug food items, and many bug familiars, these are just pngs, but you still have to list out all of them in the exclusion code, and update the list every time a new one is added. Of course this isn't the Big Problem (tm)
Dragons in fr are kept as pngs, if a toggle was made fr would either have to make dragons with bug apparel invisible or create a separate png for this toggle, and how would that code work with multiple bug-apparel? what would the if and string look like there? And what about the bug-like breeds and genes? do they have to make the toggle remove Sophie cause she's a everlux? Where does the line end and begin? What about other phobias?
4. Flight Rising has 13 development staff members
This Amount is Public Knowledge, They aren't disney, they aren't even comparable to a smaller studio like glitch. This number is pretty close to most other petsite staff
(and sure they could add more staff, but that's a whole other process with it's own issues)
